The Washington Wizards today traded guard Gilbert Arenas to the Orlando Magic for former Seattle Sonics player Rashard Lewis. The trade will help the Wizards get rid of a player who caused them a lot of negative publicity because of Arenas having a gun in the locker room. Now rookie guard John Wall can really handle things with the team.
Also in a another blockbuster trade. Orlando traded forward Vince Carter and Mickael Pietrus and center Marcin Gortat plus a future first round pick and cash to Phoenix for Hedo Turkoglu and guard Jason Richardson and Earl Clark.
Word is Magic center Dwight Howard is on is on board with the big trade. He has been upset the defense being played by the team and for the first time spoke out about it this past week.
And for the Suns they had to do something also. The team was headed nowhere and had to do something real quick.
At Orlando, Richardson and Arenas will be teamed up together again. They played together at Golder State a few years ago.
So let’s see what happens in these big big moves in the NBA. Again I am in Seattle where our Sonics left after fourty one years. We cannot make any moves because we do not have a damn team!!
Exclusive interview coming up on “Sports Inner City Radio” podcasts with former NBA vet Olden Polynice. Details soon.

I am wondering is race is a factor when it comes to Redskins QB Donavan McNabb. Why has he dealt with so much negativity when it comes to being a QB in the NFL when he is such a warm quiet kind of fella?
When you look at the career stats McNabb he is a potential Hall Of Fame player. This is for sure. So why has McNabb had more negative crap come down on his head?
Remember Rush Limbaugh saying McNabb does not have the intelligence to play QB in the NFL? Donavan had to lower himself and answer question after question on that issue. Then he is traded from the Eagles and McNabb has to ask question after question on that issue.
Now he is on the Redskins and is dealing with the second benching by Redskin head coach Mike Shanahan this week. Rex Grossman is going to be the starter and McNabb is going down to the third string QB. That’s right the third string QB. How on earth can this be?
Let’s be real readers. What in the heck has Mike Shanahan done as a head coach since all time great John Elway and very good running back Terrell Davis left Denver? I will answer that. NOTHING.
Now he comes to the Redskins and from the start has big time problems with Al Haynesworth and now with McNabb. He has blasted both of them in front of the national media which in my opinion is wrong.
To make a long story short. When Payton Manning was tossing interception after interception for the Colts did you hear about the possible benching of him? No. So why is McNabb being benched for a fella who has done nothing in Rex Grossman?
Is race a factor when it comes to McNabb and Mike Shanahan? I think it could be. All I know is Donavan McNabb is being treated wrong by Shanahan. He should NOT be benched. He should NOT be a third string QB for the Washington Redskins or any team in the NFL. Gordon Curvey

I have been following the Albert Haynesworth situation the whole season and I am upset as a sports fan how this cat was handled by Washington Redskin head coach Mike Shanahan. And the Skins management also.
They made a example of big Al. As soon as Haynesworth came to camp, he was made to run spints by Shanahan. Albert did not have the time in the spints the head coach wanted so he blasts him in front of the media for which I think was wrong saying he was out of shape etc.
Haynesworth is a very big fella of about 6-5 or so and 360 Ibs. What does Shanahan expect? I feel the Skins made big Al look bad in the public eye by talking bad about him in the media. George Karl used to do the same thing here in Seattle. Blast cats in the media. By the way good news Karl is cancer free.
Readers, the Skins are trying to get back at Haynesworth to get back the $21 million signing bonus they paid him in April. Come on, the late Ray Charles and Stevie Wonder can see that. The Skins can just cut him and move on. Why they are not doing that shows me and others that the Skins are out to make Haynesworth the fall guy and re-coup the millions they have paid him. This site was stated to “balance” the lack of people of color on sports radio and newspapers in Seattle and the U.S. Mainly sports radio. In Seattle, 710 ESPN and KJR has no people of color on the air. In A city known for it’s diversity this is wrong.

As a sports fan their was a lot of things to watch on a Saturday and Sunday afternoon. NBA basketball, the NFL, college basketball, and more. But I decided to watch Tiger Woods playing in his own tournament.
I watched it because for the first time in a long time he was in the lead. Remember he had not won in 2010.
Of course we all know the crap Woods has been in with his love life. I am not here to discuss his love life because it known by everyone. I am here to talk about Tiger Woods on the golf course. And Woods blew a big lead to Graeme McDowell in a playoff and McDowell won the Chevron Wold Challenge over Woods.
This does not happen readers!! Tiger Woods blowing a big lead and lost a event. But it happened against McDowell. I could not believe it.
McDowell sank two huge putts in win. Two great and unreal putts to win. Guess that what it takes to win against Tiger when he is in the lead.
But I hope the Chevron Wold Challenge will show that Tiger Woods is back or on his way back to be the #1 golfer in the world. As a sports fan I want to see great things happen. Tiger Woods is the best golfer in the history of golf some say. Even better than the great Jack Nickulas.
I want to see Tiger win title after title just like I was happy to see MJ and Pippin win title after title with the Chicago Bulls.
So I hope the Chevron Wold Challenge was the start of the return of greatness for Tiger Woods. I know one thing ABC, NBA and CBS will be happy!! Gordon Curvey
