Is Race A Factor In The Benching Of Donavan McNabb?

ARTICLE FROM bleacherreport.com (Full story click here)

I am wondering is race is a factor when it comes to Redskins QB Donavan McNabb. Why has he dealt with so much negativity when it comes to being a QB in the NFL when he is such a warm quiet kind of fella?

When you look at the career stats McNabb he is a potential Hall Of Fame player. This is for sure. So why has McNabb had more negative crap come down on his head?

Remember Rush Limbaugh saying McNabb does not have the intelligence to play QB in the NFL? Donavan had to lower himself and answer question after question on that issue. Then he is traded from the Eagles and McNabb has to ask question after question on that issue.

Now he is on the Redskins and is dealing with the second benching by Redskin head coach Mike Shanahan this week. Rex Grossman is going to be the starter and McNabb is going down to the third string QB. That’s right the third string QB. How on earth can this be?

Let’s be real readers. What in the heck has Mike Shanahan done as a head coach since all time great John Elway and very good running back Terrell Davis left Denver? I will answer that. NOTHING.

Now he comes to the Redskins and from the start has big time problems with Al Haynesworth and now with McNabb. He has blasted both of them in front of the national media which in my opinion is wrong.

To make a long story short. When Payton Manning was tossing interception after interception for the Colts did you hear about the possible benching of him? No. So why is McNabb being benched for a fella who has done nothing in Rex Grossman?

Is race a factor when it comes to McNabb and Mike Shanahan? I think it could be. All I know is Donavan McNabb is being treated wrong by Shanahan. He should NOT be benched. He should NOT be a third string QB for the Washington Redskins or any team in the NFL.    Gordon Curvey
