ESPN is doing a series of programs coming up regarding race relations and opportunity for African ESPN is doing a series of programs coming up regarding race relations and opportunity for African Americans on the field and off.
The programs are in relation to the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday. I hope everyone will watch the programs on ESPN. I have seen parts of it already on ESPN and it was real sad knowing that here we are in America with a African American President but still their are major differences in our country.
Please read the above story and learn about the differences on how whites and African Americans think on certain topics. It is truly sad that sorry to say, whites and blacks think differently. That is the bottom line.
This is why I am so outspoken on the makeup of sports radio KJR and 710 ESPN here in Seattle. Mainly KJR who has shown they know nothing about the word diversity. Nor do they care. In twenty years they have had a grand total of one African American behind the mic on a regular basis. One.
What really bothers me is KJR is broadcasting from the 2011 King Holiday Hoopfest here in Seattle. And they are playing commercials with the voice of Dr. King etc. In my opinion, KJR SHOULD NOT be involved in any way in broadcasting games from the King Holiday event when they are doing the complete opposite of what Dr. King lived and died for.
The company has zero African Americans or people of color in their workforce. Zero. I just think they need to realize that it is wrong to be involved with the event until they practice what Dr. King fought for. I hope everyone will watch the series of reports on ESPN regarding the opportunities for African Americans in the sports world. It should be a eye opener. Gordon Curvey

The great Hall Of Famer Charles Barkley has said he did not give Heisman Trophy winner Cam Newton tickets to a recent Phoenix Suns game.
Their are rumors that Barkley did give Newton tickets to the game. Which would break another stupid NCAA rule again by students athletes.
Of course Sir Charles went a rant on his TNT basketball show with Ernie and Kenny. He said he did not give Newton tickets and who ever said he did is a idiot and more. Read more about it in the link above.
I hope the truth will come out because the young fella Newton does not need anymore negative things happening in his life after the problems with his dad etc.
I don’t think we have heard the last of this story. We will give you a follow up soon right here!! Gordon Curvey

When I saw the story that the clown Tucker Carlson said Eagle’s QB Micheal Vick should have been executed I just could not understand.
First of all why would Carlson come out these stupid comments now after Vick has been out of prison for months? And just why does he think that about Vick.
I should not be surprised in reality because Carlson is the same fella w
ho has blasted President Obama and MANY other minorities time and time again on Fox News just like his good buddy Sean Hannity.
To say Vick should been executed is just plain stupid. Just plain wrong. Yes it was wrong what Vick did to those dogs. It was just plain wrong. I know it and you know it. But to say he should be killed is like I said crazy.
I think Tucker Carlson should never be allowed to come on Fox News or any other programs after a comment like that.
But of course he will be allowed back on Hannity and other programs to say more crazy stuff. First of all he looks ridiculous sitting on TV with his bow tie he wears most of time.
Please do not think I am taking up for Vick. I am not. What I am saying is Carlson’s comments were wrong. Flat out wrong.

What in the hell is going on when a NFL game is moved because of a snow storm? I just cannot believe it happened but it did.
As sports fans already know, the game between the Eagles and Vikings was moved from a Monday to a Tuesday because of a huge snow storm that hit the Philadelphia area.
Here is a question. What would Bart Starr of the Green Bay Packers back in the day or Deacon Jones etc think of moving a game because of the weather? These guys were warriors who played TERRIBLE weather all the time.
Starr and his Packers played in a title game when it was -2 degrees!! So now a big snow storm hits and the league moves the game. That is crazy in my opinion. I think the game was moved to protect Eagles QB Mike Vick from getting hurt and also because of the big time money ESPN has invested in the NFL broadcasts.
Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell said “We’re a nation of wusses” He was upset about the NFL moving a game because of a snow storm. I agree with the Gov.
Football and the NFL is suppose to be played in hot weather, cold weather and rain and snow. I love watching a football game on TV when the snow is falling down.
I feel the only way a game should be moved or delayed is when their is lighting in the area. That’s it readers because someone could get killed.
I know many fans feel the game moving to another day was the right move. I say that was wrong. Gordon Curvey

I was going site after site for sports stories for my website “Sports Inner City Online” and came upon this story regarding the world champs Los Angeles Lakers.
The fans and even the media are in a panic mode after the Xmas day beat down by James, Bosh and Wade and the Maimi Heat in L.A. Even Kobe was pissed!!
Kobe pointed fingers at certain player without naming names after the Heat blowout and head coach Phil Jackson pointed fingers at certain players like Gasol and Artest and his second unit.
In my opinion, Kobe needs to look at the mirror at himself before he blasts his teammates. Cat has been getting 20 points on 20 shots and a lot of turnovers too.
Artest and Gasol are not playing well and the big fella Bynum is not in shape. But it is real strange how the fans and media in L.A. are ready to jump off a bridge after two terrible defeats to the Timberwolves and the Heat. And it’s only the end of December.
This a team that has made the finals THREE YEARS IN A FREAKIN ROW and the people are upset in L.A. Give me a break!! Gordon Curvey
One of only a few urban sports websites on the Internet is “Sports Inner City Online” More stories and a better look and more exclusive interviews coming up in 2011.
