Congratulations to Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose for winning the 2010-2011 MVP Award in the NBA and he should have won it by the way.
Rose had a great season for the Bulls. He is a BALLER!! He is for real quick as a cat. His outside side is getting better and he has hops too.
Sometimes I am afraid for Rose because I feel one of these games he is going to get slammed to the floor by a big man after one of these fantastic drives to the hoop and he will be hurt big time.
He is a real down to earth yo
ung man who love his parents who helped him get to where he is after growing up in a real rough neighborhood. His brothers also behind their brother and protected him.
There is not to many down to earth cats like Rose in the NBA. He is only 22 years old. Big shout out to Derrick Rose for winning the 2010-2011 MVP awards and I hope he wins many more! Gordon Curvey

Felix Hernandez was the 2010 Cy Young winner in the American League. He is young and a exciting pitcher so why was only 12,000 or fans turned out to watch him pitch the other day here in Seattle?
It was the third smallest crowd in the history of the Mariners playing at Safeco Field. That is amazing readers, flat out amazing. The question is why?
Hernandez pitch a 1-0 win over the Oakland A’s but hardly no one was their to watch “King” Felix pitch at Safeco. Is it because it was cold? Is it because of the very high gas prices? Is it because of the ticket prices and parking and the cost of food at Safeco?
Or was it because the Seattle fans are tired of seeing a terrible team year after year? I know as a sports fan I am tired of seeing one of the worst teams in baseball year after year here in Seattle.
I also thing the Mariners do a terrible job in marketing into the African American and Hispanic communities when it comes to ads in minority owned newspapers, radio stations and TV shows and online sites like this one.
Something is big time wrong when you have a young star and CY YOUNG winning pitcher in Felix Hernandez on the mound and only 12,000 show up. Will this change when the weather warms up and Mariners when a few more games? We will see. Gordon Curvey

Oh no Seattle’s own Brandon Roy is speaking his feelings about things in nearby Portland. Why? It is because P-Town head coach and “Mr. Sonic” former player and head coach of our departed Seattle Sonics, Nate McMillan only played B-Roy eight minutes in game two of the playoffs which was a loss to Dallas.
Roy wanted to play more and wanted to help his team more. I guess Nate saw something in Roy that he did not like in Roy’s eight minutes on the floor.
While Roy was on the floor, most of the time he was guarding his childhood friend from Seattle, Jason “The Jet” Terry. Roy went to Garfield High School here in Seattle and Terry went to Franklin High here in Seattle.
I think Coach Nate saw that Terry was just driving right past Roy during his time on the floor. Terry and Roy know each others game having grew up playing ball together in the innner city of Seattle as kids. Anyway Coach Nate made a choice to play other players and not Roy.
Truth be told the Brandon Roy situation is truly sad. Because Roy’s knees are shot. He is a shell of the almost superstar Brandon Roy. He just cannot cut and cannot jump like the “old” Roy. It is real sad.
Before the season started, Roy said to the media, including myself that he wanted a bigger role in the offense of Portland and wanted the ball in his hands more. Some took this as a shot at point guard Andre Miller. This did not sit well with a lot of Portland fans.
Now Roy speaks out again on his role with Portland. Let’s see how Coach Nate and Roy handles Roy speaking out again in the media. Gordon Curvey

All time home run king Barry Bonds was found guilty on one charge in his case saying he used steroids and human growth hormones. The case was held in San Fransisco.
The jury failed to reach verdicts on the other three charges against Bonds. So in reality Bonds most likely will serve zero days in jail and I know a lot of people in the media are very disappointed he will not be going to the big house.
In my opinion a lot of people in the media wanted to see Bonds suffer because of the way Bonds treated them during his career in baseball. Bonds was for sure not liked by the media and I can understand why because he did come off as very arrogant and full of himself.
But that was Bonds. He was that way in college and in the pros. He did not care to talk to the media at all so as a result the media blasted Bonds every chance they could in their articles etc.
I just heard sportscaster JT “The Brick” go on one of his nightly rants against Bonds on his radio show. It is obvious as two left shoes he hates Barry Bonds. That’s right I am using the word HATE. His hate comes out over the radio.
A caller called in to say just that. He sounded like a African American. He said the hate from JT comes out over the radio in his tone of voice. The anger against Bonds comes out. JT The Brick’s treatment of Bonds is what MANY others in the media feel. ANGER. JT has said over and over on his show “Bonds is now a felon” He is making a BIG point of that for sure readers.
But as the caller says, let’s see if JT The Brick and the media treats the Roger Clemens steroids case that is coming up the say way. Will the anger come out against Clemens like it did against Bonds? I will be listening to find out.
So let’s see if Bonds will ever make it in the Hall Of Fame. I don’t think he will. We will let you know what happens to Bonds when he is sentenced right here on “Sports Inner City Online” Gordon Curvey

Los Angeles Laker Kobe Bryant was fined $100,000 by the NBA for a gay slur from the bench during a game between the Lakers and Spurs at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
The comment was caught on tape and I guess the NBA was made aware of it and clown David Stern put down the fine against Kobe.
I call Stern a clown because of the way he allowed our Seattle Sonics to leave town for the dust town Oklahoma City. I will never forgive Stern for allowing that to happen. Never!!!
Bryant went on radio in L.A. on 710 ESPN and explained his mistake and he made a call to a gay and lesbian organization to tell them he was sorry for making the comment and will do things to make up for his comment.
I think Kobe handled the situation as well as can be expected. Of course sports radio will beat up on him but that can be expected too. That is what they do.
Kobe made a big mistake in making the comment from the bench. He has said he is sorry so I hope the media will not drag this story on and on. But guess what….they will. Gordon Curvey
