How Could This Mistake Happen Against The Steelers!

ARTICLE from nfl.com (Full story click here)

You already know Pittsburgh Steeler head coach Mike Tomlin WAS PISSED OFF big time when he learned about the huge mistake the NFL refs made against them in the final game of the season against the Kansas City. He and his team are at home instead of playing in the NFL playoffs because of the bone-headed NFL refs!

The game was a game in which if the Steelers won they would continue on to the playoffs. But the refs made a mistake that they should be FIRED for and that is real talk readers. They should be fired!! Because this is a mistake that should not have ever ever happen. The question is how could it happen and why did it happen.

The Chargers lined up with seven players on one side of the kicker Ryan Succop of KC’s missed field goal. This is illegal. The penalty should have been called. The field goal was from 41 yards out. If the penalty was called it would have been a 36 field goal attempt and most likely he would have made it and because the game was in overtime it would have sent the Steelers to the playoffs!!

This year the NFL refs have made mistake after mistake in games. Why is this going on? I see one problem is some of these refs are up their in age. The game today is a fast game and physical game. These refs need to keep up with the game and for damn sure they need to know the rules right? After all they are NFL refs. This call that went against the Steelers is TOTALLY UNFAIR and it should HAVE NEVER HAPPENED!

Media And Fans Unfair To Andrew Bynum

ARTICLE FROM probasketballtalk.com (Click here for full story)

Today we basketball fans learned that the Cleveland Cavs have suspended big Andrew Bynum from the team. I went online to read sports fans comments regarding Bynum’s removal from the team. I saw what I expected. Fans blasting Bynum.

I think it is very unfair for basketball fans to put down Andrew like they have. I am wondering if any of the folks writing comments regarding Bynum have seen any of the Cavs games so far this year that Andrew played in. It seems they have not.

I think I know the sport of basketball very very well. I have watched four of the Cavs games so far this year. All four of the games Bynum played and I saw what the problem is and what led to the removal of Bynum from the team. What I saw was this. There was many many times that I saw plays where Bynum ran down court and went down low and got prime position down in the post and put up his hands to receive the ball.

Problem is many many times after getting position down low, he did not get the ball. Instead point Kyrie Irving shot the ball or passed to someone else or another player did not pass the ball down low to Bynum.

So many times I saw Andrew get upset for not getting the ball down low. As a basketball player growing up I got upset to when I did not get the ball in prime position on the court. Hell I even heard Cleveland legend and Cav broadcaster Austin Carr say over and over the air “Pass the ball to the big fella…feed the post” But many times it did not happen for Andrew.

In my opinion the same thing happened to Bynum in Los Angeles when he played for the Lakers. Of course we all know that Kobe Bryant shot the ball MANY MANY times. He is the Lakers. I saw MANY times that Bynum AND another big man, Pau Gasol got passed over by Bryant after they obtained position in the low post. Bryant would throw up a three pointer etc.

So fans please back of off Andrew Bynum. I hope he will get a release from the Cavs and will to a team that will FINALLY use the big time skills Bynum has a very talented NBA big man.    Gordon Curvey

Is It Time To Take The Trailblazers Serious?

“One Man’s Opinion” by Gordon Curvey

Yes I am up here in the Pacific Northwest in Seattle, Washington. A city without a damn NBA team. Former home for 41 years of the Seattle Sonics. So I have to follow the NBA from a distance. And that hurts readers!

As I do this their is a team down I-5 called the Portland Trailblazers that at the time I am typing this blog who are 22-4 so far. So the question is when do we NBA fans start to take Portland serious? After all it is only December. Well in my opinion I think it is time to take Portland serious folks because the team is ballin! Real talk. They really are.

Led by a young fella who has ice in his veins. A player who ain’t afraid to take the final shot of a tight game. And last year was named NBA Rookie Of  The Year. His name is Damion Lillard. Two games in row he has hit game winning shots with no time on the clock. He acts like when he hits the shots like it ain’t nothing. Like he is suppose to do this all the time.

Also on the Trailblazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge is also putting up great numbers. And the team has vet Mo Williams coming off the bench adding fire power and Wes Matthews Jr. and others are playing great right now. So I think it is time for the sports world to take this team serious because they are playing like they have a chip on their shoulders. They want fans to realize that their is a team way up here in the Northwest that teams need to take very serious. And the name of the team is the Portland Trailblazers.

Why Did Coach Rizzi Get Fined $10,000 And Tomlin $100,000?

ARTICLE FROM pittsburg-gazzette.com (Click here for full story)

Readers here is a good question for ya. As you may know Steeler head coach Mike Tomlin was fined a whopping $100,000 for walking into the field during a play. Truth be told I have never seen anything like that happen before in a NFL game.

When I first heard the amount of the fine I said damn that is a very huge fine. I wondered if it was fair for Tomlin to get fined such a huge amount of money. But it is what it is. But then I hear about another incident in which a coach walked onto the field during a play but this time the coach got much better treatment than Coach Tomlin.

Special team coach for Miami Darren Rizzi walked onto the field recently and even made contact with a ref but he was fined ONLY $10,000!! Again readers Rizzi made contact with a ref. Tomlin DID NOT!! Rizzi was fined $10,000 and Tomlin got fined $100,000.

So something ain’t right. In my opinion if Tomlin got this huge fine then Rizzi should get the same amount. What is going on? I have seen what Rizzi did. Again he made contact with a ref. Tomlin moved off the field once he realized where he was on the field. So why is Tomlin getting fined $100,000 and Rizzi only $10,000? Is a double standard going on folks? I think so. I am surprised that more is not being said about this. This is not fair.
