As some of you know I am a huge sports fan. I am so busy producing my music program “Music Inner City TV” I really have not gave the time I should with this site. Truth be told their are not to many sites like this on the net. A urban sports website. People of color stories in the sports world.

Why is type of site needed? Because of the lack of people of color in sports radio as well as other places in the media. One of the few national sports personalities who is a person of color or in his case a African American is Stephen A. Smith. You can see him every morning on “First Take” on ESPN2 with Skip Bayless or if you are in New York City he is on radio on ESPN Radio.

For sure Smith gives his opinions. You can agree with him big time or disagree with him big time. This is what happens to me when it comes to Stephen A. At times I say “go ahead Smith!! You are right” But other times I say “I totally disagree with this brotha” That happened for instance when he was on Arsenio.

He gave his opinions on the situation on DeSean Jackson (I discuss Jackson on “Sports Inner City Radio”) and I agreed with what he said, but on the subject of Kobe Bryant STUPID comments regarding Trayvon Martin I totally disagreed. I will discuss Bryant’s comments soon right here on SIC Online. Kobe in my opinion was out of pocket with views.

I am very happy to see a African American like Smith on TV everyday along with Micheal Wilborn and others on ESPN. Let’s face it the sports media is dominated by whites. It is just a fact. Smith talks about this at times. So it is great to have the “other side” of the story instead of just one side. Like for instance the Washington Redskins story and more.

That is why a website like mine is needed. To try to tell the other side of the story on issues in the sports world. I know I been slow with stories but this is going to change. There is just to much stuff going on in sports. So stay tuned!

I am a cat who like many of the African American players in the sports world grew up in a middle class household. Some players grew up dirt poor and this is real talk. Ten kids in a three bedroom house with only their mom in the house working trying to put food on the table for their families.

A % of these kids grow up to fulfill their dreams and play in the NFL and NBA and MLB. They sign contracts to make MILLIONS of dollars playing in the pros. These guys go from being poor to being rich overnight. They go from driving a 1998 Ford Taurus to a brand new 2014 Mercedes and buying a big home in the suburbs. Playing a kids game.

Some guys realize they are very very lucky to be drafted and very lucky to make millions. But some guys like former Seahawk Golden Tate need to wake up and smell the doggone coffee. Guys like Tate need to realize how damn lucky they are to be playing in the NFL and being on a team that won the Super Bowl with our team here in Seattle.

But Tate who recently signed with the Lions for 5 yrs/$31 million says the Seahawks offer to him here in the off season was “laughable”. He said this and much more on local sports radio station 710 ESPN here in Seattle. First of all I think all African Americans need to stay off of 710 ESPN and I will do a story as to why very soon here on SIC. And I think Tate was flat out wrong with his silly comments.

NFL and NBA and MLB players are VERY lucky to make millions of dollars and buy big homes and drive expensive cars and take care of the family etc. Here is a question sports fans. HOW MUCH MONEY DOES TATE AND OTHER PLAYERS NEED? The money the Hawks offered Tate would take care of him and family for the rest of his days on earth and his kids too. It seems many of these inner city cats have forget where in the hell they came from. I don’t give a damn about the saying “this is a business”.

I have learned to survive and pay my bills on a limited budget. Yes I want to make more. But when I do make more I will be happy. These spoiled brats like Tate and others in the NFL and other pro sports need to get off their high horse and realize that god has touched them to be in pro sports and millions of kids wish they could be like them. They are VERY VERY LUCKY AND BLESSED!!

It is laughable what Golden Tate said on the radio. Tate talks like he was god’s gift to the Seahawks. Give me a damn break!! He was good but not all that folks. So if the Lions wanted to offer Tate 31 mil YO GOLDEN BE HAPPY TAKE THE DAMN MONEY AND BE QUIET AND STAY OFF THE RADIO WHINING!! PLAY FOOTBALL AND SPEND YOUR MILLIONS AND SHUT UP BRO!!  Gordon Curvey

I just listened to the complete Richard Sherman press conference that was held today. And I am PISSED! Why? Heard all these damn white folks in the sports media in this area asking these off the wall stupid ass questions to Sherman about the word “thug” etc. GIVE ME A DAMN BREAK!!

If you guys know me and all of you do, you know I have had a big problem with white folks in the sports media calling ONLY African Americans “thugs” and I said to many of you including Dave Mahler that the word “thug” is used by white folks instead of calling us A NIGGA! Many of you know I am telling the damn truth. I said to many of you about the word “thug”!! But I guess guys like Mahler did not listen.

I hear Mahler today that AFTER hearing what Sherman said about the word “thug” he will never use the word again. HELL MAHLER YOU SHOULD HAVE NEVER USED IT IN THE FIRST DAMN PLACE!! Think about many of my emails in the past to you Mahler and others on the word “thug”

The White media today was asking flat out STUPID questions to Sherman. Questions ONLY brainless white folks would ask who DO NOT HAVE ANY AFRICAN AMERICAN FRIENDS AND NEVER SPEND TIME IN THE AFRICAN AMERICAN COMMUNITY (IE COMPTON ETC). White folks who know NOTHING about our swag and our culture! I could not believe the questions I heard from Danny O’Neil and Art Thiel and other folks at the press conference. It was like O’Neil and Thiel and others knew NOTHING about African Americans!! PERIOD!!

It was just as worse as the RACIST radio show I heard last night on Fox Radio with Josh Gibson. He and his co-hosts sounded like members of the KKK in talking about Sherman. I could not take anymore and turned that BS off after about 10 min. Then Hannity was just as worse. Pure flat out racism!

But this press conference today had me as hot as a fire cracker. It let me know how CLUELESS white folks are when it comes to race and racism. The questions asked to Sherman where just flat out WRONG AND FLAT OUT TERRIBLE.

Finally I just WISH that ALL AFRICAN AMERICAN SEATTLE SPORTS STARS WOULD STAY OFF OF WHITE DOMINATED SPORTS MEDIA. IE KJR, 710 espn, 1090 etc. And that includes RICHARD SHERMAN!! I feel Sherman is talking to damn much to the WHITE media about this 30 second so called interview with Erin Andrews. Sherman needs to say NO COMMENT for now on when it comes to this damn story. Because the white media is using Sherman for damn ratings!! PURE AND SIMPLE!!  No more interviews with CNN and NFL Network and other networks. IT IS TIME TO TALK ABOUT THE DAMN SUPER BOWL!!!!!! What will it be like facing Payton Manning and the Broncos in the damn SUPER BOWL!!

Shermand and Golden Tate and other African American players in Seattle should go to “Gametime” with KB and JB on the Ztwins here in Seattle and do interviews with Jerry Brewer and yours truly. And guys who I support like Paul Silvi and Dick Fain and Brian Abker and “The Groz” Dave Grosby and John Clayton.

Richard’s brother needs to talk to his brother and say NO MORE TALK ABOUT THE ERIN ANDREWS SO CALLED INTERVIEW!!!!! No more feeding into the white dominated media for RATINGS!! The media has shown that they are clueless when it comes to African Americans, Compton (except for maybe the movie “Boys In The Hood”), “thug” and other things that deal with our culture and race. Of course NFL rules say they have to talk to the media BUT I would stay off of local sports radio/tv except for the people I mentioned.

Let me say this again, the press conference today let me know AGAIN that white people need to take DIVERSITY TRAINING and learn about our culture and lifestyle. When I heard Dave Mahler say what he said about the word “thug” I could not believe what he said knowing I have got on his case about him using the damn word in the pass. Guess he did not listen until Sherman said what he said about NHL players knocking teeth out on the damn ice in fights. Has ANY white NHL player been called a “thug” NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You see fights in the NHL EVERY DAMN NIGHT!! Are the white players called thugs? NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

IT IS TIME TO DISCUSS THE DAMN SUPER BOWL. Sherman should SHUT UP and never discuss the Erin Andrews situation again. Will he do this? No. So I guess I have a problem with the white sports media in this town and the U.S. AND with Richard Sherman. As we say in the hood…Real Talk!! (Yo white folks.. hood means community).

As a sports fan here in Seattle we have not had to much to cheer for the last few decades. The Mariners suck. The UW basketball and football teams have not been the best. The Seattle Sonics left town for OKC and more.

The team that has brought smiles on our faces here in Seattle is the team that is on it’s way to the Super Bowl on Feb 2nd in East Rutherford, N.J. and that is the Seattle Seahawks. The Hawks beat the hated 49ers 23-17 here in a jam packed Century Link Field. It was one of the greatest football games I have ever seen. Full of hard hits, terrible calls by the refs and fantastic plays. Colin Kaepernick and his team came up short here in Seattle.

The Seahawks will play the Denver Broncos in the Super Bowl. Of course the Broncos are led by future Hall Of Fame member Payton Manning who was 32-43 and 400 yards against Tom Brady and New England  in Denver. It will be a great Super Bowl in two weeks in N.J. and I cannot wait.  Guys like Hall Of Fame member “Primetime” Dion Sanders think we are in the edge of the world with a comment he made tonight. But that’s OK “Prime” we are in the Super Bowl and we are happy!

It will be a team that many Seahawk players think is disrespected and full of low round picks that will play in the big game. The city of Seattle is going crazy with 12th man fever. Thousands of fans celebrated into the late night here in Seattle. It was great to see. Of course things are rough with the people having trouble paying their bills etc and that is why we need sports as a way to get away and have fun and drink beer and cheer for our winning team. And the team we cheered for is going to the Super Bowl!!

So again our Seahawks will play the Denver Broncos in the Super Bowl on Feb 2nd! More stories to come about the Hawks in the Super Bowl.
