Today we basketball fans learned that the Cleveland Cavs have suspended big Andrew Bynum from the team. I went online to read sports fans comments regarding Bynum’s removal from the team. I saw what I expected. Fans blasting Bynum.
I think it is very unfair for basketball fans to put down Andrew like they have. I am wondering if any of the folks writing comments regarding Bynum have seen any of the Cavs games so far this year that Andrew played in. It seems they have not.
I think I know the sport of basketball very very well. I have watched four of the Cavs games so far this year. All four of the games Bynum played and I saw what the problem is and what led to the removal of Bynum from the team. What I saw was this. There was many many times that I saw plays where Bynum ran down court and went down low and got prime position down in the post and put up his hands to receive the ball.
Problem is many many times after getting position down low, he did not get the ball. Instead point Kyrie Irving shot the ball or passed to someone else or another player did not pass the ball down low to Bynum.
So many times I saw Andrew get upset for not getting the ball down low. As a basketball player growing up I got upset to when I did not get the ball in prime position on the court. Hell I even heard Cleveland legend and Cav broadcaster Austin Carr say over and over the air “Pass the ball to the big fella…feed the post” But many times it did not happen for Andrew.
In my opinion the same thing happened to Bynum in Los Angeles when he played for the Lakers. Of course we all know that Kobe Bryant shot the ball MANY MANY times. He is the Lakers. I saw MANY times that Bynum AND another big man, Pau Gasol got passed over by Bryant after they obtained position in the low post. Bryant would throw up a three pointer etc.
So fans please back of off Andrew Bynum. I hope he will get a release from the Cavs and will to a team that will FINALLY use the big time skills Bynum has a very talented NBA big man. Gordon Curvey
