Seattle Makes Forbes Most Miserable Sports City

I was looking for sports stories on the net for my next story on “Sports Inner City Online” and then all of a sudden BAM!! I saw this story about the most miserable sports cities in the United States.

And guess what city is #1? The city I am in right now. My hometown of Seattle, Washington. But guess what readers? I was not really shocked.

Because I am STILL miserable about our Seattle Sonics leaving town a few years ago for a dust town in OKC. The Sonics was in Seattle for FOURTY-ONE YEARS!!!! And Clay Bennett took his toy and left town.

But guess what after months and months of thought I have came to the point where I can’t blame Bennett for leaving Seattle because the Key Arena needs to be re-modeled and he did not see it happening soon so he took the team and left.

Our current governor and the former Mayor of Seattle Greg Nickels did nothing to help keep the Sonics in town. Nothing. It was like they did not care. Oh yeah, concern was shown for the Mariners and Seahawks, but not the Sonics.

Every time I see future superstar Kevin Durent I get upset because we here in Seattle are not getting a chance to watch him grow up as a NBA player and a man. It is truly sad.

So again, it is not a surprise my town of Seattle is #1 most miserable sports city in America. Because as a sports fan, I am miserable. As a Seahawk fan, Mariner fan and a former fan of our Seattle Sonics.
