Pacquiao Beats A Battered Cotto In Las Vegas

ARTICLE FROM yahoosports.com (Full story click here)

P.S. I watched the fight between Manny Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto and it was a great fight. Full of action and knockdowns. Everyone got their money’s worth in this fight for sure.

The fight shows everyone that the Pacman is most likely the best pound for pound fighter in boxing. And hopefully it will set up a mega fight between Pacman and Floyd Mayweather Jr. real soon.

That fight may be the fight of the century. With money flying everywhere. The pay for view for the possible fight will be off the charts. Boxing needs a mega fight like Mayweather Jr. and Pacman. It will make folks think of Ali vs. Frazier again.

Cotto hit Pacquiao with some powerful punches but it was not enough. Manny came with punches from every angle against Cotto. He was just too quick for Cotto. He has power in his punches too. He is a great great fighter.

Cotto is not finished. He needs to go back to the drawing board and decide what is his next move. He is also a great fighter. Just not as great as the Pcman.

But I am for sure waiting for the announcement of a possible Mayweather-Pacquiao bout. And I know all boxing fans are waiting for that also.  G.C.

The 2009-2010 NBA Season Is Here!

ARTICLE FROM nba.com (Full story click here)

P.S. Well the time of the year I love is here!! Pro football is in full swing, Baseball’s World Series is about to start with the Yankees and Philly and finally the NBA is about to start!! I am in sports fan heaven!!

I have to admit that I am a basketball junkie. That is the sport I played the best growing up and all my favorite sports stars have always been basketball players. It is truly truly sad that we here in Seattle do not have the Seattle Sonics to follow anymore. I will NEVER ever get over the team that has been here for fourty-one years left town for a dusty one house town in Oklahoma City!!

So I have to follow Seattle guys in the NBA and just be a all around NBA fan. This year is going to be a great year with al the player movements. Like Sheed going to the Celtics, Shag to the Cavs to team up with James, the Spurs added Richard Jefferson, Orlando added “half man half amazing” to play with the big fella Howard, and on and on.

Will the Kobe and the Lakers repeat with the addition of Ron Artest? This season is going to be very very interesting. I hope to line up interviews with NBA players for podcasts here on SIC. Trying to really get this site to blow up and attract more visitors. With your help we can do this. Gordon Curvey

Magic And Isiah Thomas Are Mad At Each Other

ARTICLE FROM si.com (Full story click here)

P.S. This is truly a sad sad story about two NBA all time greats. Isiah Thomas and Magic Johnson. Both of them are in the NBA Hall Of Fame.

They were the best of friends. They both have won NBA titles. Thomas twice and Johnson five times. Now a book is out that has all of us sports fans wondering about is Johnson gay or bi-sexual. Truth be told, being a big sports fan and NBA fan like I am, I have heard rumors about Johnson and Thomas.

I always wondered why Johnson and Thomas seem to kiss each other before the game each time the Lakers played the Pistons. Two grown men. Others wondered too.

Let me say this, I think it is WRONG WRONG WRONG for a guy I think is the greatest NBA player player of all time. Yes I said that……greatest of all time, to come out in a doggone book and blast Thomas about the Olympics and freezing out Thomas etc.

I truly think Magic should have kept this to himself. What made him say this about Thomas in a book? Something set Magic off to do this. I think Magic better watch his back because Isiah is from the “hood” and might get “gangsta” on by Thomas.

If what I am reading in the above article is true, I have lost respect for Magic. He should have kept this between himself and Thomas. And not have put this explosive information in a book.

We will keep you informed on this story here on SIC Online. Gordon Curvey

Andrew Bynum Arrives, Artest Still On His Way With The Lakers

ARTICLE FROM latimes.com (Full story click here)

P.S. If Ron Artest plays offense with the Lakers like he did with Houston and other teams he played with it might be a problem in my opinion.

Why? Because at times Artest dominates the ball and at times takes way to many three pointers. This is something the Lakers do not need.

So I am kind of confused by Coach Jackson wanting Artest to improve his offense more in the pre-season with the Lakers. Because there is a chance if Ron starts shooting more, that will freeze out young Bynum in the low post and maybe even freeze out Mr. Laker Kobe Bryant.

One thing we know for sure is that Artest is one of the best defensive players in the NBA. So that alone will help the Lakers maybe repeat as NBA champs. We will keep you informed during the NBA season. G.C

Oden Ready To Go As Trailblazers Open Training Camp

ARTICLE FROM ogregonlive.com (Full story click here)

P.S. Well my time of the year is finally here. It is time for NBA training camps and then….the NBA season will start in October!!

And since our team here in Seattle, the Seattle Sonics are gone, I have to be a Portland Trailblazer fan since they are only 125 miles miles down the road and they have Seattle native Brandon Roy on the team and the head coach is “Mr. Sonic” Nate McMillan who spent years here in Seattle as a player and then head coach.

Portland will go places this season if center Greg Oden will improve his low post game. And gets a go to shot. Maybe a jump hook or a ten to fifteen footer. And also he has to block more shots and FINALLY he has to stay out of foul trouble. A big problem for him last season.

Oden has great potential in my opinion and others. It is time for him this season to show his potential because if he does not, the fans will Portland will think of two words…….Sam Bowie. Gordon Curvey
