So many times we hear about the negative side of minority sports stars in America so that is one of the reasons I started “Sports Inner City Online”. I will NEVER call a black sports star a “thug”! Not here!!
So in that vain, lately we have heard a lot of negative stuff concerning Panther QB Cam Newton. Because his performance this year for the Panthers has not been the best and Carolina has only won one game this season. Of course not all of this is Newton’s fault but of course he will take a lot of the blame.
And since he is one of only a few African American QB’s in the NFL, he is being watched big time sorry to say.
But off the field Cam Newton is doing some good things for the kids in the Charlotte area by donating $150,000 to three schools in the inner city of Charlotte. Plus he has paid a visit to the schools to talk to the kids about the importance of getting a good education and staying in school.
Did you hear Sportcenter on ESPN talk about this or the NFL Today or other programs that deal with the NFL talk about this? NO! They do not want to readers.
But let Cam get charged with hitting his lady or let Cam say something “different” in post game conferences and it is everywhere!! Again that is why we are here at “Sports Inner City Online” to bring out in the open positive stories like this! Good going Cam and thanks for helping out the youth in Charlotte.
