Why Do Fans Have To Be Quiet At Golf Events?

Something is driving me CRAZY as a sports fan. First of all I want to keep it real, the ONLY time I watch pro golf is when Tiger Woods is winning or near the lead. For MANY of us that is the case. Why watch golf if Tiger is not winning?
Because most of the time watching golf is like watching a nine inning baseball game…..BORING AND SLOW. Not to much excitement. I cannot remember watching a baseball game for nine innings. Just cannot do it. Baseball needs to do something to make the game faster. I will be writing my thoughts on this issue soon here on SIC.
But readers why do fans have to be quiet before a player takes his swing on the PGA tour? This is driving me crazy because in my opinion fans should be able to yell and cheer while a player takes his swing.
Instead players and the PGA wants fans to stand like statues and not say A WORD. And not only that, folks whose jobs is to take pictures for their newspapers or websites CANNOT take a pic while a player is getting ready to swing. WHY? This just does not mke sense. Unreal Recently Phil Mickleson complained about to many people snapping pics while he is getting ready to swing!! GIVE ME A FREAKING BREAK!! This is stupid!! And the sports media (ie JT The Brick and others) treated Phil with kid’s gloves on this issue too. These PGA players are spoiled rich brats. Most of them born with a silver spoon in their mouths. Sorry to say what Phil complained about is how most players feel. Be quiet during our swings. The hell with that!!
I am a tremendous Tiger Woods fan, but he wants total silence before he swings. Truth be told, he complains about silence more than Phil. This also is a fact.
Some say it is the “tradition” of the golf game as to why fans have to be quiet before a player swings. Well I say THE HELL WITH TRADITION!! Fans should be able to cheer like hell on the golf course at all times. Just like while LeBron James or Kobe Bryant are at the foul line getting ready to shoot or when Payton Manning is behind the center getting ready to take a snap. Or when A-Rod is walking up to the plate here in Seattle where fans don’t care for him at all for leaving the Mariners. Fans should be able to cheer their ass off in PGA events at all times!!
The hell with dudes with their hands up asking for quiet while a player is getting ready to swing!! The hell with a person not being able to take a pic before Tiger or Phil or Ernie or Bubba etc takes their swings! This is 2012, not 1954.
The PGA should realize this and get with the changing times. Gordon Curvey
