I want to have this bio on Ron Artest here on “Sports Inner City Online” because I feel this fella is mis-understood as a person and I think it is unfair.
Artest is a great basketball player. One of the top defensive players in the NBA and he as been for years. But here is a question. Why is Artest treated as a “thug” or a very uneducated clown or something?
It seems the media seems to talk about the negative all the time when it comes to Ron. Why readers? He IS NOT A THUG. He has not been in that much trouble has he? Yes he was involved in the brawl in Indiana when a FOOL threw a a cup of water in his face.
Check this out, I would have been upset too if a fool come out of nowhere and tossed some water in my face. The cup could have had poison or some other dangerous stuff in it. It could have put Artest eyes out!
But all the media wanted to talk about is this “thug” Artest who went after the clown who did that to Artest. By the way, the clown who did that and Artest talk and are friendly with each other. BUT that is not talked about in the media. Just negative crap about Ron Artest.
Yes he took a terrible shot near the end of the Suns-Lakers game. He knows, Phil Jackson knew it etc. But he made up for his mistake with his game winning follow up to a Kobe miss.
It is time to give Ron Artest credit for being a great NBA player. Let’s stop all the negativity against Ron. That’s all I am asking.
