P.S.
I am real happy to see that the big fella might be ready to play some time next season after all because we know how badly he loves to play basketball and he wants to win.
I don’t think Ming has been used the way he should be used since he has been in the NBA. Otherwords, I don’t think he gets the ball enough in the post.
I have watched many games of the Rockets and have watched time and time again Yao posted up ready for basketball and McGrady or another player will toss up a twenty five footer or something. Yao is unstoppable. Who can stop him in the NBA? No one. He is 7-7!!!
One thing I have much respect for Yao is this. He came to America and to play in the NBA and make millions and millions of dollars. He said to himself he had to learn english. And he did. He does commercials with Charles Barkley and others. Selling products.
Meanwhile Ichiro continues to talk Chinese in interviews etc. When Ming first came here he could not handle a half time or post game interview. Now he can. Why Ichiro continues to talk Chinese when he has been here for 10 years is beyond me. I hear he talks English with other Mariners and friends but not in the public.
Anyway hurry up Yao, the NBA needs you and all the NBA fans in China need you too. Gordon Curvey

P.S. I just found out about Philadelphia star Jimmy Rollins being more than a MLB player. He is also in the entertainment business with “Jimmy Rollins Entertainment”.
His company is working with some high profile music stars.
Rollins is planning for life after baseball which a lot of sports stars forget to do and then suffer because they have nothing to fall back on.
They have spent all of their millions on cars, homes, the ladies and yes……..drugs. Sports stars like Venus and Serena Williams and before that Magic Johnson and others realize that they cannot play pro sports forever.
You don’t hear about negative stuff when it comes to Jimmy Rollins and another Philly’s star, Ryan Howard also. By the way, we will be writing a story on Howard soon right here on S.I.C.
Rollins and Howard are role models for young kids to look up too. Gordon Curvey

P.S. Why did our Seattle Mariners pick Dennis Ackley in the 09 MLB draft over Donavan Tate? Ackley was the second player drafted and Tate was third taken by San Diego.
Tate is a possible five tool player. Just like another young player that the Mariners drafted then traded away, Adam Jones who is having a fine season with Baltimore. Everyone in baseball says Jones is going to be a superstar.
Both Ackley and Tate are outfielders. Tate is a good football player too.
But I am glad to see the Mariners step up to the plate and now have Bill Hall and another African American player and Grif Jr.
In the stands at Safeco you do not see many African Americans in the stands at beautiful Safeco Field so maybe you might see a few more at the games now.
The Padres first three draft picks were African American in Tate and Everett Williams and Keyvius Sampson.
“We have indentified a need for athleticism, particularly in the outfield” said San Diego Vice-President Kevin Towers.
I guess the Mariners want to continue to be boring and continue to trade away five tool players or not draft a five tool player who can get young inner city kids interested in baseball again.

I am in a city that was left without a NBA team after 41 years, the Seattle Sonics. They left town and left us NBA fans very very sad. We are left to be fans of other teams like Portland town the road in Oregon.
We are left to follow Seattle area natives in the NBA like Jamal Crawford, Jason Terry, Spencer Hawes, Brandon Roy, Rodney Stuckey, Aaron Brooks and a few others. And think about fantastic plays for the past by Shawn Kemp, Gary Payton, Ray Allen, Jack Sikma, “Downtown” Freddie Brown etc.
Hopefully we can obtain a new team in the future. That is my hope as a Sonic fan and a NBA fan. We are a metropolitan city without a NBA team BUT a city like Oklahoma City has one. THIS IS NOT RIGHT!!! Watch the trailer for “SonicGate” above. Gordon Curvey
