After watching the Mariner game today against Oakland and seeing Felix Hernandez pitch his ass off with little run support AGAIN, I think it is time to trade him right now.

I tired of watching Felix pitch time and time again with little run support from the weak hitting Seattle Mariner team.

As a sports fan I am sick and tired of watching this happen to a great young pitcher here in Seattle. Sorry “King’s Court” it is time to trade Felix to a team that can support him.

How many times have we watched Hernandez pitch into the 6th or 7th inning and the Mariners have one freakin run!! It is TRULY SAD so I think it is time for the Seattle Mariners to trade Felix.

Yes I realize that their are thousands and thousands of King Felix fans  here in Seattle but I am sorry, Felix should want to play with a winning team not a sad and boring Mariner team that is on it’s way to ANOTHER near 100 loss season.

So I hope to go online and see that Felix has been traded for say one of the Weeks brothers or Upton brothers or a another Adam Jones type player. By the way the Jones trade was the worst in Mariner history, It was not needed. Look at the season Jones is having with the Baltimore Orioles.

But unlike the Jones trade, the trade of Felix Hernandez is needed and needed now as far as I am concerned. I am tired of seeing this young man pitch with almost no support.   Gordon Curvey

A question needs to be asked. Is Serena Williams the greatest female sports star in history? People are starting to ask this question after Williams won a fifth Wimbledon ladies title.

Serena won her fifth title by beating Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland. But check this out readers. Serena ties her sister Venus who has also won five Wimbledon ladies titles. This is unreal that two sisters can dominate like this in a sports. And in my strong opinion not enough is being said about this.

Is it because they are African American? I don’t know but one thing for sure we are going to talk about it. Serena and Venus have dominated ladies tennis. Pure and simple.

In a sport where you are “old” at about 26 or 27, Serena became the oldest winner of the ladies title at Wimbledon. She is 30 years old. But she has shown that she has not slowed down at her age. It shows how great she is. More needs to be said about how great she is.

Yes Serena at times is outspoken. Oh yeah she speaks her mind from time to time. But so what. Should that be the reason the media does not give Serena the press she should get? If so that is wrong. Serena Williams in my opinion is the greatest female sports star in history. It is time to realize this. Congrates to Serena Williams for winning here fifth Wimbledon title.

Today I talked to a long time friend of mine here in Seattle who also is from St. Louis. We talk sports all the time. Today among other topics we talked about Reds manager Dusty Baker who is upset that two of his players, Johnny Cueto and Brandon Phillips were left off the MLB All Star Game by former St. Louis manager Tony LaRussa.

My friend told me to do some homework on LaRussa. Check out his past. So I went to Google and found out a lot of VERY interesting articles on the retired manager. And most of them are not good.

LuRussa has been called a racist in the past and even now for leaving two people of color off the All-Star team. Two players by the way who were involved big time in a baseball fight last season between the Reds and Cards. So it is VERY interesting that LaRussa leaves the SAME PLAYERS INVOLVED IN A BIG BRAWL AGAINST HIS TEAM, OFF THE ALL-STAR TEAM? And both of them like I said are people of color.

Tony LaRussa being called a racist is nothing new readers. in 1999 ex player Ron Gant called LaRussa a racist. And others have done the same over the years.

And look at his Cardinal teams in the last few years. Very few African Americans or people of color have been on the Cardinal teams the last few years.

And if you read the link above, LaRussa backs the racist immigration laws in Arizona PLUS he is a Tea Party supporter and has been to Tea Party events. So with this story about Dusty Baker being upset at LaRussa coming out, folks should not be surprised at all about this dude.

Brandon Phillips is a young exciting five tool player who is having a fine season and so is Johnny Cueto. BOTH should have been picked by LuRussa to be on the All-Star team. But after doing my homework on Tony LaRussa I can see why he did what he did to the two Reds players.

LaRussa is a cat who has employed a known steroids user Mark McGwire to a freaking  job as the St. Louis hitting coach! McGwire should be at home watching the games and he should not be a hitting coach for ANYONE!!! He is cheater like Barry Bonds and in my strong opinion, like Barry Clemens.

Of course, local sports radio KJR and 710 ESPN have not brought the issue out that Tony LaRussa is racist towards African Americans and people of color. Because they HAVE NOT DONE THEIR HOMEWORK LIKE I HAVE ON TONY LARUSSA!! Why? Because they don’t care. Sports radio here in Seattle has ZERO African Americans or people of color on the air locally. Local host Dave Mahler had a chance to bring this issue up of LaRussa maybe being racist when he brought up Baker’s problems with LaRussa on his show but because he did not do his homework and also the fella he was talking to, Seth Everett also did not do is homework, the issue was quickly dropped.

If you do your homework on Tony LaRussa you will find out that he was a manager who won a lot of games over his long career as a manager. But you will also find out he has had problems with African Americans and people of color and African Americans have taken issue with LaRussa over the years. The stories I found on Google shows me that.

I will follow this story up in a few days with a story on baseball as a whole and the African American players in baseball and the lack of marketing to the African American community.    Gordon Curvey

Sports fans are you tired of hearing about a possible trade of Dwight Howard from the Orlando Magic? I am real tired and that is for sure as a NBA fan. Trade this cat or don’t trade him!!

Can you imagine how the fans of the Orlando Magic feel. They are hanging wondering if Dwight is staying or not. It has went on for about two years now. It is time for action. Howard has not made things better for himself or the fans of the Magic in Orlando. And he has not made it easy on his teammates too.

In my opinion he has acted immature and childish at times. And sorry to say at times last year he did not give 100% in various games. At times you could see Howard with a frown on his face on the court and on the bench. He just did not look happy last season. That bothered me.

So I hope all this talk about a possible trade to the Brooklyn Nets will happen soon. Because as a sports fan and a NBA junky I am TIRED of reading about a possible trade of Dwight Howard.  Gordon Curvey

As a big KG fan and a basketball junky, I am really happy to see that Kevin Garnett is coming back to play for the Boston Celtics and head coach Doc Rivers.

Garnett is a for sure first ballot Hall Of Famer and one of the greatest players of all time. He is a flat out warrior who hardly misses a game season after season. Garnett gives you 100% each and every game. If you are a NBA fan, have you ever seen KG walk down court or not go all out on a play? I have not seen it happen.

Yes he is 36 but so what. He is still one of the best players in the NBA. He was a 20 and 10 player last season. Not to many players younger than KG can say that.

So let’s see what the Celtics do with Ray Allen, The champion Heat is in the running for Allen. Will the big four be back next season? The big four is Rondo, Allen, KG and “The Truth” Paul Pierce. People called them old BUT the old team was one game away from playing in the NBA Finals. We will be keep you informed right here on SIC.    Gordon Curvey
