By gordon on Mar 16, 2015 | In Basketball, Featured | Comments Off on Resting NBA Players Is BS And Hurts The Fans!!
ARTICLE FROM espn.com (Full story click here)
There is so much going on in sports and so many topics to discuss that is NOT being talked about from the “minority point of view”
So after doing other things, “Sports Inner City Online” will be back and running with fresh news stories and more!!
I love the NBA. I love the game of basketball. By far it is my favorite sport. I get depressed as a sports fan when the NBA season is over. I really do readers and when the Sonics left our city it was one of the worst days of my time on earth.
When I watch the NBA on TNT and ESPN or watch Portland on cable and of course on ABC and NBA-TV and NBA League Pass I want to see the stars play! I don’t want to be surprised that a star player or star players are sitting on the bench or freakin RESTING!! This is BS!! Players sitting and resting during the season is crazy and it is just not right at all!!
Fans pay a lot of money to go to a NBA game. Parking, gas in car, food, a beer or two and tickets. Maybe they buy a hat etc. Heck a parent can pay up to $250 to go to a game. Or between $50 and $250 etc. Listen readers, people work hard for their money and they should not be surprised when they come to a Spurs game and the Big Three is sitting or to a Cavs game and Lebron is sitting or to a Golden State game and the Splash Bros are sitting.
Just about all the time, a fan has ZERO knowledge that a star they are paying to watch will not be playing. THIS IS VERY VERY WRONG!! VERY VERY UNFAIR TO THE FANS OF THE NBA!! These players HAVE ALL FREAKIN SUMMER TO REST!!!!!!!!!! NBA players get paid MILLIONS OF DOLLARS TO PLAY BASKETBALL. These players are YOUNG. In there 20’s and early 30’s. What in the hell do they have to rest for?
And here is the thing that pisses me off readers. Guys like Coach Pop of the Spurs does not give a damn about our feelings. He basically says “F the fans” And he says I am going to rest Timmy and Parker and Munu. But like I said, fans come to the arena to see Timmy and Parker and Munu. The kids want to see their favorite players and idols play. They have pics of these guys on their walls at home for goodness sake!
So Kerr says in the article he feels how the fans feel. NO HE DOES NOT!! If he did he would play Thompson and Curry EVERY GAME…82 GAMES DAMMIT!! Unless they are hurt. This is the bottom line!!! AND REST DURING THE SUMMER!! Hopefully NBA fans will stand up and speak out on coaches sitting their players during the season. Comments? gcurvey@yahoo.com Gordon Curvey

By gordon on Jan 19, 2015 | In Featured | Comments Off on Seattle vs N.E/Super Bowl In Arizona/ Listen To Interview With Robert Kraft
“One Man’s Opinion” by Gordon Curvey
As millions of other football fans I thought it was over for our Seattle Seahawks. Way behind with little time left. As a sports fan who is here in my hometown of Seattle and I said to myself our run is over.
But OMG! Things started to happen. Seattle obtained a onside kick and then “Beastmode” Lynch blasted for a 24 yard td run. Then Russell Wilson tossed a long 2 point conversation to Luke Willson to make the score 22-19 Green Bay. Then Russell scored on a td. Then Aaron Rodgers led his team down the field and GB kicked a field goal to tie the game.
Then all of a sudden Russell Wilson hit Doug Baldwin for a long pass and then BAM!! Wilson FINALLY connected with a cat who he had tried to hit all game long…local native Jermaine Kearse for td and GAME OVER!! THE SEATTLE SEAHAWKS ARE RETURNING TO THE SUPER BOWL!! It has to be one of the best NFL games EVER!!
Since I was not covering the game in the press room (only one game in two regular seasons in the press room), I had to provide some type of coverage for my African American owned sports media. So I charged up my video camera and hit the road to Century Link Field which is a few minutes from my residence here in South Seattle.
And I posted up right outside of Century Link Field and got a few VERY excited fans to tell us how they feel about the impossible Seahawk win and even tried to holla at a few disappointed Packer fans. You can watch that PLUS my short interview I did with New England owner ROBERT KRAFT a few years ago in Los Angeles. Mr. Kraft was real nice to me to stop for the short interview. So check it out below.

By gordon on Jan 18, 2015 | In Featured | Comments Off on Seattle Seahawks Going Back To The Super Bowl After OT Win!
Our Super Bowl champs Seattle Seahawks are returning to the Super Bowl in two weeks down in sunny Arizona after a stunning 28-22 win in OT over Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers. They will meet Tom Brady and the New England Patriots. I am in shock that the Seahawks came back to win the game. I just cannot believe it readers!
As a fan and part of the media I am very very happy about the Seahawks going back to the Super Bowl. It had to be one of the greatest games ever in the NFL. That is what a lot of media is saying. I think it is true. When local kid Jermaine Kearse caught the long pass from Russell Wilson in OT for the win I jumped up and I could have hit my head on the ceiling if I was a little younger!! Real talk!
Right after the game I got myself together, grabbed my video camera and ran to my car and rode in the pouring rain down to Century Link Field which is a few minutes from my apartment. I obtained a lot of happy fans on camera outside of the stadium commenting on the great win. Downloading the video to my PC and will be editing a Seahawk webcast airing right here very soon. Stay tuned!! All comments: gcurvey@yahoo.com

By gordon on Jan 17, 2015 | In Basketball, Featured | Comments Off on OMG! Anthony Suspended For Soliciting A Prostitute
“One Man’s Opinion” by Gordon Curvey
I was told about this story this morning and all I can say was OMG! I do not believe in his conservative political views but I respected his views on the game I love so much…basketball.
Greg Anthony was arrested for soliciting a prostitute in Washington D.C. It was around 5:45pm that Anthony was picked up. This is truly a sad and terrible story. Because Anthony was suppose to be the color analyst for a game today on CBS as I type this article
He is also a studio analyst for NBA-TV. Most of the time he is on the air with Chris Webber and Ernie Johnson. The charges is a misdemeanor. If found guilty he could spend up to 180 days in jail
Anthony had become CBS TV #1 NCAA hoops analyst replacing Clark Kellogg. He knows the game of basketball and is very intelligent. Why on earth would he maybe do what he did? He has a great looking wive at home and has three children. This is just bad news all away around. For himself and CBS and for basketball.
Greg first made a name for himself as a member of the “Runnin Rebels” of UNLV back in the early 90’s with Larry Johnson and Stacy Augman and others. They had a great, fast, exciting and dynamic team. One of the greatest college teams of all time. Then he had a solid pro career.
So now we will see what in the hell happens to Greg Anthony and his broadcasting career. One thing for sure we will not see Anthony on TV anytime soon but the question is the motor mouth Charles Barkley taking his place? Ummmmmm? All comments: gcurvey@yahoo.com
