Cowboys Have Done Nothing Lately But Still Get Headlines!

“One Man’s Opinion” by Gordon Curvey

Kam Chancellor is back for our Seahawks and I give my views on his return on “Sports Inner City TV” right here on “S.I.C-Online”

I watch “First Take” on ESPN with Stephen A. Smith and Skip Bayless. And Smith and Bayless always get into it big time about the Dallas Cowboys and WHY they seem to always make headlines in sports. Please explain!!

The Cowboys used to be called “America’s Team” That is when they were winning titles with Emmitt Smith and Troy Aikman and Micheal “Playmaker” Irvin. They were a dynasty in the 90’s for sure.

But sports fans what have the Dallas Cowboys done since then? Basically not a damn thing but they STILL make headlines all the time! I do not understand.

Is it because they have a great stadium owned by Jerry Jones? What is it? I just do not understand. Stephen A. has requested Jones come on “First Take” for a debate regarding the Cowboys but Jerry has refused so far. Ummm….I wonder why?

QB Tony Romo signed a HUGE contract last year with the Cowboys. Here is a question…WHY???? What in the hell has Tony Romo done to earn the big money he gets? In my opinion not a damn thing!!! Now the injured Dex Bryant has earned his big contract. Why you ask? Because Dez makes some of best grabs of passes in the NFL. You say to yourself how did he grab that pass. Bryant has made Romo look good.

So today as I type this Tony Romo fractured his left clavicle. The same injury that kept him out for 10 games in 2010. Now he is suppose to miss up to eight weeks. I go online to CNN and MSN and other sites and their are pics/headlines about Romo being hurt etc. WHY?

Romo has done NOTHING to obtain the big headlines!! Our Russell Wilson has. Aaron Rodgers has. Drew Brees has. Big Ben has. Rivers has but Tony Romo has not earned nothing with his play to get big headlines. THE FREAKIN COWBOYS CANNOT EVEN MAKE THE PLAYOFFS SO WHY SHOULD ROMO AND JERRY JONES GET HEADLINES ARE THE TIME?

ARTICLE FROM newsone.com (Full story click here)

And a new “Sports Inner City TV” webcast is up and running with topics like our Seahawks loss 34-31 to the Rams, Seahawks Kam Chancellor holdout and more PLUS a classic r&b music video.

Watch both via your smartphone, tablets, mac or pc ANYWHERE in the world!! So grab your headphones and enjoy!!

If you are a fan of “Music Inner City News Magazine” and “Sports Inner City TV/Online” you know I am a tremendous fan of Lebron James. What James does on the court as we all know is great but what he does off the court to me is even greater!!

James announced a few ago that his Lebron James Foundation is going to help 1,000 kids get a college education as long as they get good grades and graduate in his home city of Akron, Ohio. Now he is taking his help even further.

James “I Promise” program will help parents obtain their General Education Development (GED) The program will pay for testing fees, laptops, bus passes and hand out prizes for good work. Also parents who have children in the Lebron James Family Foundation and wish to obtain their GED are automatically welcome. Readers this is great!! It really is.

Lebron’s program will also ensure parents are prepared to enter the workforce. James has partnered with adult education organization “Project Learn Of Summit County” which will also cover costs for the newly launched program.

Ladies and gentlemen what Lebron James is doing, EVERY ONE should do. James is from the hood or the inner city. He has got filthy rich BUT the inner city has not left James. He cares about kids. He cares about kids and now parents in getting a education and then obtaining a job or even starting their own business like for instance the Asians and now the East Africans.

In ending readers. Here is a big problem. A huge problem. The sports radio business in Seattle (KJR and 710 ESPN) and the U.S. and sports media in general do not want to discuss this issue. They do NOT want to discuss when African American brothas and sistas do great things like what James is doing. Like what NFL legend Dion Sanders is doing opening a school, what former NBA star and now NBA commentator Jalen Rose in also opening a school for kids.

The media do not want to discuss this positive stuff. But let Sanders and Rose and James and other brothas allegedly hit his lady or get caught with drugs and other stuff and it is headlines. YOU KNOW I AM RIGHT!! Shout out to Lebron and Rose and Sanders and other African Americans who are showing concern for inner city kids!!!!

NEW!! The return of “Sports Inner City Radio” podcast!! Hosted by Gordon Curvey. Cuts and Others Moves From The NFL/Kam Thoughts

Well it looks like Robert Griffin III will be staying with Washington instead of being released or traded. Washington will keep RG3 for now as their second string QB behind starter Kirk Cousins.

But you can bet RG3 will be the starter very soon because I predict Cousins will be hurt because of a terrible O line with the team or be removed because of his poor performance. It will happen you just watch readers.  RG3 will be the second string QB ahead of Colt McCoy. Coy will be the second string QB for the season opener because Griffin still is out with a concussion that made him miss the final two pre season games.

The situation concerning RG3 in Washington is like a soap opera. It really is. Do the players like RG3 or not. Is the owner of the team calling the shots regarding Robert’s future? It is crazy.

In other news former Seahawk QB Terrelle Pryor has made the Cleveland Brown’s roster. Happy for Pryor. I interviewed him when he was with the Hawks and he was a real nice dude. He has had a bad hamstring all pre season but the Browns still decided to keep him at least for now. The fella has talent but for some reason he just has not displayed his talent with the Raiders and Seahawks.

Also the champion NE Pats have released future Hall Of Famer Reggie Wayne.  Wayne of course spent years with the Colts and caught hella passes from another future Hall Of Famer Payton Manning. Word is Wayne asked for his release.

And here in Seattle, S Kam Chancellor is still a no-show. So of course the Hawks are planning to open the season without Kam. Now there are rumors that other teams have contacted the Seahawks about a possible trade. One of teams is said to be the New York Giants. But word is the Hawks are not listening to trade offers for Big Kam.

Readers this is a sad story. I have mainly been silent in my thoughts as a fan and media member but not anymore. I think Chancellor is flat out wrong for holding out. Everybody around here realizes that Kam was as happy as a clam when he signed his big contract last year.  Kam has THREE YEARS left on his contract folks. It looks like the Seahawks are standing their ground and will refuse to renegotiate a new contract.

So now it is season time. What will Kam do? A lot of people think Kam will end his holdout and report before game number one. But as I type this piece it looks like Kam will continue to hold out. This is truly sad sports fans. I was in the locker room of the Seahawks after the final pre season game and something was missing…Kam Chancellor. I was used to saying “what’s up” to big Kam. But he was not there.

Finally a thought or two on the Seahawks moves. Sorry to see WR Kasen Williams (played at the University of Washington) not making the final 53 man roster. He had a good final pre season game against Oakland. Everyone was pulling for him to make the team. It was no surprise that CB Mohammed Seisey was put on the IR list. And finally it is kind of a sad story that DT Jessie Williams did not make the final roster. As you may know Williams fought back from having cancer. I hope Williams will get a chance to play in the NFL. That will be a GREAT STORY!!

Seattle Seahawks Player Cuts Right Here

All NFL teams had to make there final cuts by 1pm Seattle time on Saturday Sept 5th. Of course some familiar names will be on the cut list.

One already named as a cut is QB Tim Tebow who was cut by the Eagles. Head coach Chip Kelly said Tebow has improved his throwing technique but still needs to improve. Man….he was not even good enough to make a third string back up.

Quick announcement. We have a special “Seattle Seahawks Special” right here on “Sports Inner City TV” very soon. From the Vmac in Renton, Washington with player interviews and more. P

lus from the locker room after the recent Raiders vs Seahawks last pre-season game. Also on the webcast will be a one on one interview with “The Voice Of The Seahawks” Steve Raible (pic from our interview) from on the field at Century Link.
