KJ Holds Big Event In Sac-Town To Announce New Investors

ARTICLE FROM sacbee.com (Full story click here)

I listened to the Mayor Johnson’s address to the city of Sacramento press event on local radio and said to myself that KJ REALLY fighting hard to keep the Kings in his home town. This is a fact.

KJ sounded like a preacher on Sunday in a inner city church. He let everyone know that he is pulling all the rabbits out of his hat to help stop the Kings from moving to my home town here in Seattle. Is it too late? We will see next month when the NBA owners meet and have their vote to see if the Kings will move here to Seattle.

If the move is approved, the NBA will return here in the fall to play in their former home Key Arena until the new arena financed by Steve Ballmer and Chris Hansen is built. I am only about five minutes away from the area.

We here in Seattle know that if we had a mayor like KJ that fought like him, maybe our Sonics would not have left in 2008 to OKC. Former Mayor Nickles did not do a damn thing! Hell he only attended one Sonic game in eight freakin years!!  He did not give a damn about keeping our team in Seattle. We Sonic fans know this for sure. He most likely could not name a Sonic player!!

Mayor Johnson named a couple of new people who are on board to help keep the Kings in town and a former NBA star like himself. Mark Mastrov and Ron Burkle and former NBA star Mitch Richmond.

But we can see that Mayor Johnson who of course was a All-Star point guard in the NBA is a fighter like he was on the courts of the NBA for 13 years. He is a bulldog. A pitbull. Mike Tyson. He does not want to see his NBA leave his own town and hurt thousands and thousands of Kings fans. It will hurt big time if this happens.

So will KJ win this fight readers? We will see in April. Meanwhile I have to admit. After listening to KJ tonight, I am real nervous about the NBA returning here to Seattle. Yes the Hansen group have given the Kings owners the Maloofs a $30 million NONREFUNDABLE check as a down payment. But I am STILL nervous as are all Sonic fans. REAL NERVOUS.

Of course we will keep you up to date right here on on SIC.  Gordon Curvey
