Jackson Being Treated VERY Unfair By Media And Fans In Seattle

“One Man’s Opinion” by Gordon E. Curvey

I have been holding back on my opinions on the QB situation here in town with our Seattle Seahawks. I feel QB Tarvaris Jackson is being treated big time unfair by the media and fans on sports radio (710 ESPN and sportsradio KJR) here in Seattle. It is wrong and not right.

Jackson was hurt last season. Plus he played in back of a patchwork line that “tried” to protect him but the reality is Jackson was hurt and was still running for his life in most games BUT he still let the Hawks to seven wins and it could have been more it things fall right. But the media and fans continue to talk about the negative when it comes to Jackson.

Rookie QB out of Stanford Russell Wilson was a very good college QB, but readers he is only 5-10 1/2. How many NFL QB’s have been a success? The answer is not many. But I hear callers and read online in the Seattle Times and Seattle P.I. that fans say that the Seahawks should keep Wilson and Matt Flynn and release Jackson. I just don’t understand what would make fans say this crap. He is a ROOKIE and is 5-10 1/2!! Let’s get real!!

Now let’s talk about Matt Flynn who was signed to big money (for some unknown reason) by the Hawks. He has started a grand total of TWO NFL GAMES. One of them he played against second stringers in a game that did not count. He threw for 400 or so yards against second or third stringers!! He has NOT proven himself readers.

Not only that the word is his arm is not strong. For sure not as strong as Jackson. So WHY are readers and the media saying he is the starter or should be the starter for the Hawks? There is a thing called training camp!! NO ONE should name   Matt Flynn the starter over Jackson until their is a training camp battle. It is only fair. John Clayton the guru of NFL knowledge says the Hawks should name their starter after only the second pre-season game! Is this fair?

The Seattle Seahawks training camp and pre-season games will be very very interesting. For the first time I am looking forward to watch pre-season games in a few weeks.

Yes when he was with the Vikings he was not the world’s best QB. But Jackson was not the worst too. He has a strong arm and is athletic and still young enough to do well.

But here in Seattle the media and fans continue to talk about how much money was given to Matt Flynn and because of that he should be the starter even before training camp and pre-season games!
