Will Kyrie Irving Be A Star In The NBA?

ARTICLE FROM nbadraft.net (Full draft coverage click here)

I am a NBA junky. Not only that I am a basketball junky. I love the game of basketball. I can watch a high school game, college game, WNBA game, D-League game and of course the NBA.

For me to watch the entire 2011 NBA Draft, myself and every NBA fan had to be a true NBA and basketball fan and that is for sure. I stayed all the way until the final pick which was #60.

The final pick was from here in Seattle and the University Of Washington’s own Isaiah Thomas who was the very last pick. We are very glad he got picked by the Kings. But I still think he should have stayed at the UW for his last season.

The ratings was huge for the NBA Draft. So the question is will #1 pick Kyrie Irving be a NBA star or just a average player. He is only 19 years old so we will see how the Cavs will use him. Remember the Cavshave Baron Davis at the point guard righ now.

Irving is a very intelligent young man. He only played 11 games at Duke so a lot of basketball fans really do not know how good of a player he is. Again, we will see.

One thing for sure, their was plenty of foreign players drafted. And a lot of fans are asking why? Some say the players overseas are “smarter” and know the game better than American players. Some are saying a little racism is coming into play when the discussion of overseas players comes up compared to American players.

Anyway let’s hope their is a NBA season and we do not have a lockout. Right now the season does not look look good. We will keep you informed right here on “Sports Inner City Online”  Gordon Curvey
