All of a sudden my home town of Seattle ( and suburbs) is getting pub for sending a lot of young cats to the NBA from our area of the United States. People are finally getting hip to this going on. Well about time!!

I have been wondering why it has taken so long for the sports media to get a hold of the Seattle area putting so many players in the NBA.

Back in the day it was only a few players like big James Edwards and Clint Richardson. Edwards went to Roosevelt High and Richardson went to O’Dea High here in Seattle.

Then came Doug Christie who went to Rainier Beach High. Then all of a sudden BAM!! It started to happen with players coming from the courts of the Seattle area and they went on to play in the NBA.

I think the reason is in AAU and other leagues, players are getting better coaching. And the young players are ballin everyday at Rainier and Rainier Beach Community Centers. Garfield and Green Lake and Montlake Community Centers. Also High Point and other centers and of course during the summer at outside courts in the Seattle area.

You see young fellas walking down the street with a basketball. The kids are crazy about basketball in Seattle and the suburbs. Basketball is the king. Yes our Sonics are gone after 41 years. But that has not stopped the young kids from shooting hoops and learning the game.

And more young players are on the way from our area I think to the NBA. Just out. They are on the way.

Spread the word on one of a few urban sports websites on the Internet, “Sports Inner City Online” based out of Seattle. A spin off of “Music Inner City TV” on the air playing the best in urban music videos and exclusive interviews. On the air for more than 19 YEARS!!
