ARTICLE FROM seattlepi.com (Full story click here)

The University of Washington Huskies beat the Arizona Wildcats in the Staples Center in L.A. to win the Pac-10 tournament 77-75. It was just announced the Huskies will play the Georgia Bulldogs, this Friday in Charlotte, N.C.

Husky Jr. guard Isaiah Thomas hit a 20 ft fall away jumper at the buzzer in overtime to win the game for Huskies and a automatic berth in the Big Dance.

Thomas scored 28 points while Terrence Ross scored 16 for the Huskies. It was a great college game just like the last time the two teams met. Up and down the floor. Just a great game to watch.

We will report to you here at SIC where our hometown Huskies are going to play in the Big Dance. So please come back to “Sports Inner City Online”   Gordon Curvey

Head Coach The Problem With The Heat?/I Think So

ARTICLE FROM miamiherald.com (Full story click here)

Just watched the Miami Heat get beat by the Bulls and Derrick Rose 87-86. It was another terrible loss for the big three of James, Bosh and Wade and it happened in Miami and it did not look good for the Heat and their fans.

It seems the Heat get lost in the 4th. The question is why this is happening. It seems LeBron does not know how or cannot make game winning shots like Kobe does time and time again.

Also it seems Chris Bosh is not touching the ball near the end of games. Dwayne Wade is not really getting good looks too. In press conferences at the end of another loss, Wade continues to say “We will work it out” But you cannot say that with 19 or so games left. That excuse does not work. As a sports fan and a NBA fan I am tired of hearing Wade or James or Bosh giving excuses.

Something is wrong with the Heat. Here is a question readers. Is Miami head coach Erik Spoelstra one of the programs with the Heat? Have the players tuned him out? Are they listening to him? Do they respect him as a head coach? I don’t think so. I think he needs to go.

Yes Pat Riley is 70 years old, but I think he needs to walk from the front office and became the head coach of the Miami Heat NOW!! That’s right, now. Riley has the respect of the players. He has rings. I think it is time for Pat Riley to take over the Miami Heat RIGHT NOW!!!   Gordon Curvey

Will President Obama Get Involved In NFL Talks?

ARTICLE FROM sports.yahoo.com (Full story click here)

Football fans this is serious business going on right now. Will we or will we not be watching NFL football this coming season? I am starting to wonder what is really going to happen.

Yes the meetings are going on and there has been extensions in the meetings but it is getting to the point where I am worried as a NFL fan if I will watching NFL football next season.

If this happens it will be devastating for fans, businesses around football stadiums here in Seattle around Qwest Field and nationwide and of course for the players.

I am not taking sides. The owners have points to make and so does the players. One thing for sure, maybe a lot of the players will stop buying huge homes and cars etc and safe more money.

Finally if things don’t get solved in the week or so will President Obama get involved? This might happen because as many of you know, President Obama is a big sports fan and I know he wants to watch NFL football like many of us.

Let’s see if the Prez gets involved if the meetings continue to go downhill.   Gordon Curvey

Melo’s Letter To Denver Fans/I Have A Problem With That

ARTICLE FROM yardbarker.com (Full story click here)

Former Denver Nugget former Carmelo Anthony recently wrote a letter to the fans of the Nuggets to say thank you for all the support they gave him in his eight years in Denver. To me I have a problem with Melo.

The hell with saying thank you Melo!! Your butt should still be in Denver playing for the Nuggets. A team that made you a multi-millonaire. A team whose head coach George Karl fought cancer more than once but you acted like you were god and demanded a trade.

Yo Melo, there are plenty of D-League players and players playing in China and Germany etc who would kill to play in the NBA with the Nuggets or Nets or Clippers. But Melo acts like he is Jerry West or Kareem or MJ and wanted out of Denver. The hell with that!

Melo hurt a lot of little kids in Denver who parents dressed then up in Melo jerseys like little kids did here in Seattle for Shawn Kemp and Gary Payton. He let those little kids down Melo. But he did not care right readers?

I am tired of these pro players demanding where they want to play. These cats are from the hood and most of them did not have a pot to piss in, then they get millions and forgot where they come from and start demanding this and that. LeBron James and others come to mind.

If you have noticed sports fans, Melo’s new team the Knicks are not playing the best ball. Hell they lost to the Cavs the other day. Good for the Cavs!!! I don’t care if Melo’s wife, La La is a reality star and wanted to be in NY or LA. I care about the fans in Denver Melo let down.

By the way since Melo left, the Nuggets have played very good. Good for George Karl and good for the Nuggets. It is too bad “Mr. Big Shot” Phillips had to leave his home town of Denver because he was made part of the trade.    Gordon Curvey

Detroit Players Flat Out Wrong & Should Be Fined Big Time!

ARTICLE FROM detnews.com (Full story click here)

As a sports fans I just could not believe it when I saw that Detroit Pistons players Rip Hamilton, Tracy McGrady, Ben Wallace, Tayshaun Prince, Chris Wilcox, Seattle area native Rodney Stuckey and former Gonzaga player Austin Daye stayed away from practice recently.

Maybe some had a reason to stay away but the question is did they let the Pistons Joe Dumars know? This is the question readers.

The bottom line is some or all of these players have a major problem with Pistons head coach John Kuester so most people think they decided to have a protest against him and stay away from practice. THIS IS WRONG!!

If the players had a legit reason to stay away from practice then that’s cool. But again, did thy let their coach know or Dumars know?

If not they should be FINED BIG TIME by the Pistons organization. They CANNOT let the players run the team just because they have a program with the head coach. As far as I am concerned they can take their millions and go and let some D-League player take their place!! Players who are hungry to play in the NBA. Let’s these spoiled brats LEAVE AND LEAVE NOW!!!! Gordon Curvey
