Sad to say readers but again racism has shown it’s ugly head again in the Northwest and it’s very very sad.

For years I have fought for inclusion of African Americans on local sports radio KJR and 710 ESPN. FYI, currently KJR has zero African American regular hosts and this is flat out wrong!

Recently KJR hosts led by Dave Mahler threw down vicious racism again Panther QB Cam Newton. With Mahler calling Newton “a douche bag” and “a tool” and “a ass” His buddies on KJR former UW Husky and former NFL QB Hugh Millan and morning host Mitch Levy joined in the mistreatment of Cam.

The station even had a poll on it’s website titled “Is Cam Newton A Asshole” Yes readers they really did have this poll.

Now we have Seahawk Kam Chancellor in the news locally and nationally over a incident in Redmond, a surburb of Seattle. Kam and a few of his friends visited a closed gym trying to see if Chancellor wanted to maybe buy the gym to have his very popular fitness bootcamps.

But when Kam tried to ask for information about the gym, a employee called the police. Chancellor did a interview on a local radio station about the incident.

“The first thing the lady did was look at us with an evil, devil look and shooed us off” Kam said. “We were like, can we just get infomation? That’s all. We don’t want to do anything else but get information. We didn’t knock on the door anymore after that. We just waved them like, could you please come here? But they decided to stand 10 to 15 yards away behind a desk, saying they were going to call the cops” Chancellor said.

In the 911 call the employee made to the cops, one of the employees described Chancellor and his friends as “bad news” and looked like “heroin addicts” or homeless kids”. Truth is readers they did not look like none of those things!

To make matters worse, the owner of the gym later said that he believed his employee’s actions were “appropriate” in light of recent break in attempts.

Folks this incident was all about a group of African Americans and one white guy led by big Kam having the police called on them for no reason at all. Flat out. They saw a big black dude and they got scared.

Well I do not think Kam Chancellor will look into having a gym in Redmond anytime soon. I do not blame him! If you think this type of incident would have happened to a group of white folks…you are wrong. This is just a fact.

Ladies and gentlemen the terrible mistreatment of Panther QB Cam Newton is really shown in this racist letter Newsday’s New York Jet’s beat writer Kimberly Martin shared from a reader. Here it is below.’

Dear Ms. Martin:

You seem like a very nice young woman. I read your article about Cam Newton. You shouldn’t be surprised. You need to understand something that your teachers, editors or colleagues are not going to say out loud: the biggest curse we have in this country is niggers. Cam Newton has no class. Why should he? Niggers don’t know the first thing about class. Look at Kanye West, Bill Cosby, etc. Look at the NY City tabloids, niggers wreck havoc on our society from top to bottom on a daily basis. This country would be so much better off without them. They fill our streets with crime, they dumb down our schools, they ruin our neighborhoods, and they act like animals. The only people that benefit from their presence in this country are owners of All-You-Can Eat restaurants and the manufacturers of Colt 45 malt liquor. They still worship Micheal Jackson and he was a sick child molester. I could go and on.

Do yourself a favor and stay away from them as much as possible.

That letter is truly truly sad. And in my opinion, sports radio hosts like the ones on sports radio KJR here in Seattle helped to fan the flames sort of speak with all the negative talk regarding Cam Newton.

I always look forward to the NBA All Star Weekend every year. As a sport fan I just love the three days of events.

Of course my favorites to watch is the three point contest and the slam dunk contest. And this year it did not disappoint the viewers at home and in person because it was pure enjoyment for basketball fans.

The three point contest came down to the “Splash Brothers” Klay Thompson and Steph Curry of the champs Golden State Warriors with Thompson winning the contest. The young man as we know can really really drain buckets as we know Curry can.

But the true excitement was in the dunk contest that came down to a battle of young high risers in Zack Levine who is from here in Western Washington state of the Timberwolves and Aaron Gordon of Orlando. The brothas put on a show!!

It was one great dunk after another great dunk. It came down to a dunk off and in the end Lavine repeated as the Slam Dunk winner. BUT in my opinion and many others, Gordon won. But anyway the contest left everyone with a smile on their faces and left us knowing why we enjoy the NBA.

But ladies and gentlemen the entire weekend showed why the NBA and of course the NFL are so popular to young people and for sure young African American kids and youth in the inner city and out.

But the question is why is baseball lagging behind in reaching young inner city kids in playing baseball. The kids turn to football and basketball by age 12.

This is a fact. All you have to do is go to any major city and look at the make up of high school baseball teams compared to their basketball teams and football teams. Then you will know what I am saying.

Young inner city kids do not see Major League Baseball players doing national marketing of products like NBA/NFL ex and current players are doing.

Kids see KD, CP3, KG, Kobe, Barkley, Lebron, Curry, Blake Griffin, Damian Lilliard, Paul George, James Harden, Russell Wilson, Richard Sherman, Cam Newton and others on TV. But do not see Andrew McCutchen or other African American baseball players on TV selling sneakers or Burger King or Wendy’s products etc. The question is why?

Most baseball players have zero personality. No charisma. They are not into hip-hop or rap or r&b. They love rock or country music.

A lot of NBA and NFL players are very very stylish and dress to the nines unlike baseball players. MLB thinks it is 1955 instead of 2016. With “Take Me Out To The Ballgame” and “America The Beautiful” sang at the 7th inning. Same ole same ole that has went on for decades. Baseball and apple pie.

I am a Adult School Crossing Guard on the side for the Seattle Public Schools and I can ask kids who is Andrew McCutchen or Matt Kemp or David Price and they will not even know who they are. But I can ask what number Curry or Lebron or Kobe wears and they will know. This is sad.

Our Seattle Mariners will have a grand total of ZERO African American regulars when the season starts and only ONE African American on the team. Plus zero African Americans in their front office.

So when I go down to Safeco Field for interviews, it will be with the visiting team who might have a African American player because my goal is reaching young African American kids about the game of baseball.

Sorry to say I saw a Seattle Mariners commercial the other day with a little white kid and his dad at a game. That is not reaching African Americans and the youth of the inner city. It just is not.

So big thanks to the NBA and NFL for knowing this is 2016 not 1948. And playing Kendrick Lamar or Ice Cube or James Brown or Earth Wind and Fire at games unlike baseball who is playing Elvis and Creedence Clearwater or the Beatles at their games. I will be doing another story on this topic very soon.

I have not let my views out on the very unfair treatment of Cam Newton on my website until now. I am very angry and bothered by the below the belt treatment of Panther QB Cam Newton on sports radio KJR here in Seattle.

Sports radio KJR here in Seattle has zero African American regular hosts during the day and night. Mitch Levy, Ian Furness, Jason Puckett, Dave Mahler, Chuck Powell, Jason Smith and Ben Maller. The host constantly blast African Americans/people of color on a daily basis. It is flat out wrong and very very unfair. Now the favorite whipping boy on the air is Cam Newton.

Dave “Softy” Mahler is the main person I have a major problem with. He has used names like “douche bag” and “tool” and “asshole” and more in discussing Newton. He comes off as very angry when he talks about Cam. The word is hatred toward Newton. His “buddy” former NFL QB Hugh Millen has followed Mahler in using derogatory names against Cam Newton. He too sounds angry on air against Cam.

Morning host Mitch Levy has come on the air says he “hates” Cam Newton. I have seen posts on Twitter where folks have called Cam “a pussy” and more terrible names. Readers why is it hosts on KJR and others hate Newton?  Because of his “celebrations”?

Check this out, KJR even a poll on their website in which they asked “Is Cam Newton a asshole” Yes they actually had a poll asking this crazy question ladies and gentlemen. This is a outrage and sorry to say racist. It just is. The problem is this folks. Yes, Cam lost in the Super Bowl. Yes Cam walked out of press conference after about three minutes. We know this happened. Yes he did not dive on the football about it was knocked out his hand when he tried to pass it.

First of all the NFL was totally wrong for having Cam at a post game press conference so soon after Newton and his team got beat in the biggest game of their time on earth. And the NFL had Cam sitting right next to a Denver player who Newton heard clearly was bashing and bragging about beating the Carolina Panthers and Cam. I might have got up and cut out too!!

Some say Cam did a lot a smiling and talking and dancing etc and he should take the bitter with the sweet and be a man. This could be true but having said smiling and dancing etc is Cam Newton. He said a few days later back in Charlotte that he takes not winning very hard.

He also said he is not perfect and those of the people bashing him are not perfect too. He was saying people need to look in the mirror at themselves before they bash him. He is 100% right. All these guys like Dave Mahler and Hugh Millen and Mitch Levy on sports radio KJR and elsewhere need to look in the mirror at themselves. They come off as freakin angels who do no wrong.

Meanwhile while Mahler and his “buddies” on KJR, did they even mention all the great work Cam does in the community for kids. Like visiting terminally ill kids in hospitals, buying thousands of dollars of Xmas gifts for inner city families, buying thousands of turkeys/dinners for inner city families. And of course giving official NFL footballs to very happy kids when he scores. No talk on this on KJR. Just white hosts calling Newton “a asshole” “a douche bag” and more!! This is very very wrong!!

Cam Newton is young, rich, very talented, smart and has charisma and yes…he is a African American QB. So he is under the sports microscope all the time. Like he said before, at 6-5 260, he can do things no other QB can do in the NFL. Our own Russell Wilson who is a suburb QB cannot do what Cam can do. This is just a fact.

Here is a problem that we as African Americans already know. White folks have a severe problem with outspoken African American/people of color like for instance Rev. Al Sharpton or Rev. Jesse Jackson or the late Malcolm X or the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr and yes even our President..President Barack Obama. And now Cam Newton. White folks think they are from Mars or Jupiter or Venus. Yes, even yours truly.

They think we are living in 1935 or 1945. Where we are suppose to keep quiet and fall in at the back of line and be happy Negros. I am sorry this is a new day. We do not have to shut up to please the majority community. Cam Newton is himself. I know he will learn from his experiences at the Super Bowl. Like he said again…he is not perfect.

But as I said, the below the belt name calling by all white folks shows racism is alive and well in Seattle on sports radio KJR and in America because of this point. I have not heard ONE African American current or ex player who has a problem with Cam Newton’s “celebrations” Not one. It is ALL from the white sports media and fans. People who know nothing about the African American lifestyle, our swag, our culture.

Mahler and his “buddy” Millen and others just show how immature and classless they are. They show that they have no understanding on what we go though on a daily basis in white America. Meanwhile while Newton is getting blasted by white media, another QB Johnny Manziel who is having problem after problem after problem is being treated with kids gloves by Dave Mahler, Ian Furness, Jason Puckett, Mitch Levy, Hugh Millen on sports radio KJR here in Seattle. This is real talk. Former NFL QB Ryan Leaf and WSU Cougar was treated the same way.

One host on KJR, Chuck Powell actually a majority of time I do not have a problem with. He has been fair when he talks about Newton. So I will give him his props here on my site.

Mahler and Mitch have got to relaxed on KJR and have been allowed to say anything about African Americans over the air and nothing will happen to them. Why? Because the program director Rich Moore has also got to relaxed. All three have been at the station around 20 years.

This is a problem. I will continue to bring out problems at sports radio KJR and the media when it comes to African Americans and people of color in the sports world.

My thoughts on Ken Griffey Jr. going into the Hall Of Fame soon right here on “Sports Inner City Online”

I was online looking for stories for my websites tonight and I learned of Tampa Bay Head Coach Lovie Smith being fired late Tuesday night and I was flat out shocked. I just cannot and will not understand this move at all.

This move is unreal and wrong by Tampa Bay. Smith only had two seasons as the head coach of Tampa Bay. When he took over the team word is it was a total mess. His first year he went 2-14 his first year and 6-10 this year with a rookie Jameis Winston at QB. TB was among the most improved teams in the NFL this past season. So it is CRAZY that Lovie was fired by GM Jason Licht.

Word is many players on the team are pissed at Smith being fired. And their are rumors that TB did not want to see offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter get away to another team, so they fired Smith. If this the case this is pure BS on the part of Tampa Bay and I am upset because it is one less African American head coach in the NFL. There is now seven vacancies for head coaches in the NFL.

So now there are only four African American head coaches in the NFL. Marvin Lewis, Jim Caldwell (for now), Todd Bowles and Mike Tomlin are the names and this is flat out WRONG. African Americans can dominate on the field but what about getting chances to be a head coach? It is not happening ladies and gentlemen. Also their are only TWO offensive coordinators that are African American..Hue Jackson and Pep Hamilton.

As far as defensive coordinators that are three African Americans and they are Romero Crennel, Ken Norton Jr. and Leslie Frazier. Will these fellas get a chance to be head coaches with these many openings? We will see. But the firing of Lovie Smith is as wrong as two left shoes. How did this happen and why did this happen after only TWO SEASONS??? THIS SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED TO COACH SMITH!!! PERIOD!!
