What Is Scottie Pippin Smokin?/James Better MJ….Hell No!!

ARTICLE FROM usatoday.com (Full story clcik here)

Hall of Famer Scottie Pippin must have had a drink that was spiked with something or must have fell out the wrong side of the bed when he say LaBron James is better player than Micheal Jordan!! What kind of comment is that.

Last time I checked James has zero rings. Maybe he might get his first if his Miami Heat beat Seattle’s own Jason Terry and Big Dirk and the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA playoffs.

Pippin said MJ was a better scorer but James is a better player. SAY WHAT SCOTTIE???? That is just crazy for him to say that. Sounds like someone who is jealous of MJ. James is not a better player than Jordan.

MJ played defense, offense and won six rings. Yes James has two MVP trophy’s but has zero rings. Yes James can play all five poistions on the court which is great. But at the age of 25 he still does not compare to the great Micheal Jordan.

In my opinion the top five players of all time in the NBA are Magic Johnson, Bill Russell, Wilt Chamberlain, MJ and Kareem Abdul Jabbar. Kobe is near the top too. James is not in that class yet in my opinion.

The question is why would Pippin make that comment? I just do not understand. It is beyond me. Has MJ did something to this brotha? His comment is crazy. Maybe in time James may became better than MJ. But right now HE IS NOT PIP!!!!  Gordon Curvey

Bernard Hopkins Gives Boxing Lesson To Pascal At 46

ARTICLE FROM si.com (Full story click here)

Last night I watched a boxer give a boxing lesson to Jean Pascal to win the WBC light heavyweight title in Montreal. It was a great fight to watch.

His name is Bernard Hopkins who for sure is going into the boxing Hall Of Fame when ever he retires. And the question is when will he retire? He said he wants to fight until he is 50.

He is 46 years old and gave the 28 year old Pascal some knowledge on how to box. After the fourth round, Hopkins just took control and never looked back. He even did push-ups in-between rounds while the younger fighter looked on. It was great!!

“The Xecutioner” Hopkins let everyone know that he is one of the greatest fighters of all times. He is very intelligent and knows the game of boxing. The history of boxing. I was happy I was able to see this great fighter fight a great fight.

Finally let me say this. I think Hopkins should retire at the top. Walk away from the game as a fighter. He is 46 years old. FATHER TIME WILL CATCH UP TO HIM. Retire now before he gets really really hurt. It only takes one big punch. I hope Bernard Hopkins will walk away from being a boxer and continue to work with “Golden Boy” Promotions to promote big fights and be on ESPN and talk boxing.

But a shout out to Bernard Hopkins who at 46 years old made me proud to be a boxing fan again. I wish we can get a top heavyweight fighter from America so we can see a great heavyweight title fight in the future.  Gordon Curvey

Former #1 Woods Out Of The Top Ten In World Rankings

ARTICLE FROM yardbarker.com (Full story click here)

Tiger Woods is feeling something he has never felt in most of his career playing golf. And that feeling is being out of the top 10 in the world ranking.

Currently Woods is ranked as the #11 golfer in the world. He has not been that low since he started playing golf in the PGA in 1997.

Tiger has not won a event in 18 months. We all know what he has went though with his love life. And we all know about his injuries, but as a sports fan I just want to see Tiger Woods win a PGA event.

The ONLY time I watch golf on TV is when Woods is near the lead or leading. If Tiger is not their I would rather watch a freshly painted house dry than watch golf if Tiger is not near the lead. Period. And by the way many sports fans feel the same.

Let’s hope Woods achilles tendon injury will heal so he can be in contention to maybe win the PGA event in June that he is entered to be in.

One thing for sure, when Tiger is doing well the whold sport is doing well. This is a fact.     Gordon Curvey

NHL Players Are Not Called “Thugs” But NBA Players Are

“One Man’ Opinion” by Gordon Curvey

I was listening to J.T. The Brick’s radio show the other and he had a discussion with a NHL reporter on the NHL hockey playoffs.

During the discussion the topic of fighting came up. If you watch Sportscenter on ESPN you will see fighting on the ice on a nightly basis. But here is a question. Are they ever called “thugs”?

The answer is no. BUT why is it when NBA players get in a fight on the court or a fight happens on the field in the NFL, the players are called “thugs”?

When I see the fights in the NHL MANY punches are being thrown from all directions. Blood is flying. But these guys are never called “thugs” But NBA and NFL players are. The question is why?

When JT and the NHL reporter discussed the fights it was like “oh well, just another NHL fight” I just do not understand this readers.

Of course the players involved in fighting in the NHL are white and the players fighting in the NHL and NFL are African American. Is this why NHL players are not being called “thugs”?

I sent a email to Looney who does the show with JT The Brick on Fox Sports radio on this issue and have not heard back from him.

L.A. Lakers center Andrew Bynum hit the white Mavs player with a TERRIBLE albow and he was called a “thug” by JT The Brick, BUT when the topic of fighting in a NFL playoff game was discussed on JT’s program, the players were not called “thugs”. It makes you wonder what is REALLY going on?

The bottom line is this readers. African Americans are called “thugs” and White atheletes who get in fights in professional sports are not. This is the bottom line. Again, the question is why?
