“One Man’s Opinion” by Gordon Curvey
Well we all knew it was going to happen and it finally did today as running back LaDainian Tomlinson was cut by the San Diego Chargers.
He stats have fallen the last few years so we sports fans knew it was only a matter of time that the Chargers would make a move and they did.
On the Chargers part it was perfect timing because they had to pay LT a $2 million bonus by the first week of March if they did not cut him real soon. So thy did but they still have to pay him $1 million of it so LT is still getting a fat pay day for being cut.
How would you like to get a $1 million payday for being fired from your job? I would take it for real. And I know LT is kind of happy to leave SD and get the check.
Now the question is who is going to pick a 30 year old running back up? Being a 30 year old running back in the NFL is considered old.
Will our Seahawks take a look at LT? I think he can still play and help a team. He will not be the “old” LT but I think he can still run and help a team. Let’s see who it will be.

Today Tiger Woods came back in front of the cameras and the public eye to say he is sorry for his actions about cheating on his wife with numerous affairs.
Tiger said he was sorry to everyone who works for him. Said he was sorry to all the kids who look up to him as a role model and to his Tiger Woods Foundation kids too. He said his work for kids will continue.
Woods asked the press leave his mom and kids alone and stop following them all over the place. He said he was sorry to all the players in the PGA and to all the sponsors who have stood behind him over the years.
He said he thought he could get away from what ever he wanted to. He said he found out that was wrong and said he was sorry to everyone including his mom. His mom sat in the front row and looked worried and upset in my opinion.
He said he will return to golf. When that is we do not know. I hope as a sports fan it is soon rather than later so I can watch him win events again.
What I don’t like is PGA golfers who have greatly benefited from the greatness of Tiger Woods blasting him in the media. I don’t like it at all. It is wrong. One of them is Ernie Els. This cat and all the other golfers who have blasted Tiger need to chill out realize that because of Woods they are earning big time money. Not Arnold Palmer, not Ernie Els or Jack Nicklaus, it is TIGER WOODS.
They need to realize that Tiger Woods is golf. Who in the hell wants to turn on TV and watch Ernie Els or Tom Watson play in a event? I DON’T!!! Do you? Again these golfers need to stop talking about Tiger in a negative way when Woods is the face of the PGA. NOT THEM!!!!
I am watching fools on the air saying Tiger should have shown more emotion at his event. GIVE ME A BREAK!! They wanted him to get in front of millions and cry like a baby. So he did not and now certain folks in the media will talk negative about Woods for that. That is crazy!!
So I hope Tiger Woods will continue to get the help he needs and soon return to the courses of the PGA and win events again. I will not watch one minute of golf until then. I know millions of others will not too. That is why the PGA’s ratings on TV are way way down. It is because of Tiger Woods.

I just watched the NBA dunk contest during the NBA All-Star weekend on TNT. And I was VERY VERY disappointed in ALL the events and activities so far.
Hopefully the game wiil be better than the stuff I watched today. The 3 point shootout…..boring. Won by the Celtics Paul Pierce. The skills event……..boring. Won by Steve Nash. The D-League game……boring. And finally, the event that everyone looks forward to, the dunk contest……BORING.
It was won for the third time by Seattle’s own Nate Robinson. Sorry to knock my fellow Seattle native little Nate, but none of his dunks were super exciting. And the same goes for the other players in the dunk contest.
Nothing like Nate and Dwight Howard and Nate and Spud Webb etc. I was very very disappointed. As was Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith and Reggie Miller on TNT. The crowd was not excited. The judges were not excited. It was boring folks. Something has to be done to improve the contest.
One of the things that needs to happen is somehow getting King James, or Howard or other superstars who jump sky high to be in the contest. It has to happen.
Shaq had a idea that should have been taken up by the player. And it was a dunk off by Kobe (who was hurt), Howard, James, Vince Carter and Dwayne Wade and money from the tickets sold would go to the suffering people in Haiti. BUT all the players said no. That is a damn shame.
So we were made to watch the first boring dunk contest in years. We did not hear Kenny Smith and Barkley going off after a tremendous dunk. Their needs to be big changes for next year. Are you listening David Stern?

One Man’s Opinion” by Gordon Curvey
Former NBA super star and Hall of Famer Charles Barkley says Colt’s QB Payton Manning got a pass from the media for not shaking hands with Saints QB Drew Brews after the game.
And Chuck is right folks. Payton was wrong for not going across the field to shake the players hand. He just walked right into the locker room.
I was listening to Colin Cowherd on ESPN Radio and he basically skipped right over this story as did local sports radio stations here in Seattle KJR and 710ESPN.
Cowherd used the excuse that it is different in football than basketball. Remember LeBron James got BLASTED by the media for not shaking Dwight Howard’s hand after the Magic elimanated the Cavs in last years playoffs.
Cowherd said it is a long way to go across a very crowded football field to shake a players hand. BUT here is a point. The head coaches make their way across a crowded field AFTER EVERY GAME to shake hands right? So how come Payton could not have done that? He could have had plenty of security to have done this.
Their was no excuse for Payton Manning not to go across the field to shake Brees hand. No excuse what so ever. So Barkely is 100% right. So the question is why has Manning got a pass readers?
Manning is allowed to walk on water by the media just like Seahawk Matt Hassllebeck here in Seattle. They do no wrong.
James was blasted by everyone in the media, but excuses were made for Manning. This is a double standard and Payton Manning got a pass by the media. Barkley was right.

I put all the problems of paying bills and editing TV shows
etc aside to watch the Super Bowl between the Saints and Colts like
millions and millions of others on Sunday night.
And I am as happy as hell that the New Orleans Saints beat the Colts
31-17 in Miami. I am happy that the city of New Orleans can celebrate
this great victory after what they have been though in the last five
years.
It was like my home town Seattle Seahawks won the Super Bowl. It was
great. It is what sports is all about readers. Sports is a outlet for
me. To get away from life problems and enjoy basketball, football and
baseball etc. And tonight I realize why I love sports so much because I
was so happy to see the Saints win the Super Bowl.
Here is something to think about Seahawks fans reading this. The
Seahawks need a running back. The Saints may not want to pay Reggie
Bush eight million. So why not the Seahawks picking him up? Because
guest what? His ex-coach Pete Carroll is the new head coach of the
Hawks. So let’s see what happens on that end.
Anyway I am watching the citizens of New Orleans partying big time
in the streets of downtown. They are so damn happy!! They might party
until the REAL party starts, the Mardi Gras in less than two weeks.
Congratulations to the New Orleans Saints for winning this years Super Bowl. And congrates to the city of New Orleans.
