We here in Seattle have not come down from the clouds since we became Super Bowl winners win they blew out Payton Manning and the Broncos last winter in New York. I still cannot believe it happened but it did.

During the off season all the talk in sports has been can the Seahawks repeat as Super Bowl winners. Some in the media say yes, some in the media says no. But I will say this folks. The way the Seattle Seahawks looked tonight here in town at Century Link they look better than last year and they are….yes ready to repeat as the champs of the NFL. This is real!!

Russell Wilson tossed for 191 yards on 19-28 passes and “Beastmode” Marshawn Lynch ran like the Lynch of old. He ran for 110 yards on 20 carries and Percy Harvin had a combined 100 yards of offense for the Seahawks. They looked great before of course a packed and very loud Century Link crowd of the “12th Man”. And it was a beautiful sunny day and a great day for sports fans here in Seattle.

Aaron Rodgers had 189 yards passing but it was really for nothing because the Packers offense was not doing anything. It’s up tempo offense did not work against the champs. Seattle showed the sports world that they will be a force again in the NFL.

Before the game I watched guys like Tony Dungy and a few others say they do not think the Seahawks can repeat as Super Bowl champs. But many others say they think Seattle can repeat as long as they stay healthy. Hopefully Harvin can stay healthy all season. If you know his history this has been very hard for him to do.

So the Seahawks are 1-0 and let a national audience know that we are the Super Bowl champs and may be better than last year!!

I was watching Colin Cowherd on ESPN this morning and the topic of Robert Griffin III came up. Why you ask?

Because something is going on with Washington (no Redskins name here for now on). And that is the play of RG III in pre-season.

Everyone in Washington sports media is saying that QB Kirk Cousins is out playing RG III in the pre-season. And Cowherd went on to put RG III on blast saying he has been mainly a media darling with tons of commercials etc. And that his play does not reflect his off the field money making. Well last year it did not for sure.

Well even ESPN’s Herm Edwards even said Cousins is out playing Griffin in pre-season. So I guess the question is will Cousins start the season as the #1 QB for Washington? WOW if that happens that will be big big news!! All the hype and commercials etc that RG III does and he will be on the bench? Let’s see what happens readers.

This has been a hell of week if you are a sports fan and for sure a NBA fan. Even if it is the off-season of the NBA, they are dominating the sports headlines even more than the World Cup.

It is because of one 29 year old fella by the name of Lebron James. It is unreal readers. Hell the only sports stars who have dominated the sports news more than James in my opinion has been former running back Marcus Dupree and the great Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. All this because of James deciding to leave Miami and return home to Cleveland. James is from nearby Akron, Ohio as we all know.

Watching all this happen on ESPN and NBA TV is really something. In my mind I knew James would leave the Heat. I just saw it in his face in the last press conference he had with his good friend Dwayne Wade after the Spurs blew out the Heat in 5 games. I saw a player that was fed up with carrying the Heat. It was getting back to James doing everything just as he did when he was with the Cavs in 2006 thur 2010.

So everyone else may have been shocked by I was not. What I am shocked about is James signing for only 2 years with Cleveland. In reality Lebron can opt out and leave the Cavs AFTER ONE YEAR! But here is the catch. A new TV deal with the NBA happens in two years and everyone including James can make much more money. But still it is shocking that James signed for such a short time.

Let’s see if the Cavs will surround James with some players that can help the city of Cleveland win a title. Something that has not happened since the 60’s. The city needs to enjoy the happiness we here in Seattle enjoyed when our Seahawks won the Super Bowl. It makes everyone in the city feel happy. Even though pain it makes you feel happy. James wants to help his home area feel that happiness.

Also Carmelo Anthony is staying with the New York Knicks for a LOT of money. At least $120 million!! So like James let’s see what kind of team the Knicks surround Melo with. Right now the Knicks or the Cavs cannot win a NBA title with the team they have now. Rumors are the Cavs are really after the Timberwolves Kevin Love. And James is trying to help make that happen. As for the Knicks, their head man the legendary Phil Jackson has his hands full in making a team that can fight for a title.

Also Paul Pierce is going to the Wizards and Pau Gasol is going to play for the Bulls. The off-season in the NBA is BIG news. And that is find with me because I have the NBA and I love the sport of basketball!

I have always said that the ONLY time I watch the game of golf is when Tiger Woods is playing and doing well. But the ratings for the PGA shows that I am not the only one feeling this way.

When Tiger Woods is not playing the ratings on TV takes a terrible dive! A HUGE DIP! The game needs the return of Woods and he is returning as I type this article for the 2014 Quicken Loans National.

Thank god Tiger is returning for the sport because when I take a peak of a golf event that Tiger Woods is not playing, I have NEVER heard of these cats!! Who are they?

I have heard of Bubba Watson and Sergio and Phil and a few others but the others I do not have a clue. Real talk. Of course Tiger was out after having a back operation a few months ago and he has come back a little sooner some thought but in a article I saw today he is pain free. Of course with Tiger being out for awhile it will take him a minute to get his game back but again the fans of golf will just be happy to see Woods walking the fairways of a golf event again.

And also now Woods can continue his battle to catch “The Bear” Jack Nicklaus for majors wins. Let’s see what happens. All I can say and many others can say…welcome back Tiger!!

One thing is for sure readers. NBA mega-star Lebron James is a flat out lighting rod for fans blasting him and not showing love. Fans seem to dislike him more than ANY sports star in the U.S!

The question is this. Did James bring this hate on himself? Of course most say James made a HUGE mistake by having that big announcement four years ago on ESPN when he left the Cavs and went to the Miami Heat. Of course since he joined the Heat the team has played in four finals in a row and has won two NBA titles.

Of course now James is in the sports news 24-7 because he has opted out his contract with the Heat and is now a free agent and he can join any time that can spend the money to sign him. Please remember this.

The Miami Heat can offer him more money than any other team in the NBA. There is all kind of talk about Lebron should go here, Lebron should go their. Story after story. It is crazy!! Real crazy it is going to get MUCH worse because his Heat teammates Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh can leave the Heat also.

One thing for damn sure and that is James WILL NOT have a big party at a arena to say I am playing for this team. Remember James saying “Not one, not two, not three”? I know that will not happen! He has learned his lesson on that!

But again it seems fans hate James just because. Some think he is a spoiled brat who has been a “star” since he was in high school in Akron, Ohio. But the truth is he has been a well known basketball player since he was about 15. Hell in high school dude was driving a freakin Hummer!! James is a very intelligent man who wants to do well on the court and as a businessman off the court. He has never been in the police blotter for a cat hangin in the club until 2am and getting in trouble. He is a great dad to his children. He has another on the way too. His first daughter.

And also James does about all interview requests from the media. He also studies the history of the NBA. He knows about Wilt and Connie Hawkins and Bob Cousy and Earl “The Pearl” Monroe and other stars from back in the day. He wants to be a businessman off the court like Ervin “Magic” Johnson and former NBA player Jr. Bridgeman who is worth about $300 million after smart business moves after leaving the NBA. “Magic” is worth a half a billion! James is heading there for sure!

Will James return to Cleveland? This is all over the place in the media. He has a $27 million home in nearby Akron of course his hometown. And his lady it seems would love to return home to Ohio. Will James go the Clippers and join Chris Paul? I do not think that is a good move with Blake Griffin already there and recently Coach Rivers said Blake is untradeable.

Will James AND another high profile star Carmelo Anthony team up and play together in New York? How about James joining Houston with Howard and Harden? Their are all kinds of stories out there including James staying in Miami with Wade and Bosh and Pat Riley making some moves to help the big three.

All I know is Lebron was NOT happy after being blasted by Timmy, Parker and Ginobili and the 5 time champs Spurs. He wants to win but others including Riley are saying James should not run from team to team running after another title. Stay in Miami and stop running. Hang in their like Kobe Bryant with the Lakers. We will be following this huge sports story right here in “Sports Inner City Online” & TV! Stay turned!
