Seahawks Vs. Vikings To Be Played In Bitter Cold Weather

“One Man’s Opinion” by Gordon Curvey

Well it is playoff time ladies and gentlemen. A new season for the players. I love the NFL playoffs and I love it that our Seattle Seahawks are again back in the playoffs and fighting to be in the Super Bowl three years in a row.

The Seahawks will be playing the Vikings in Minnesota and it will be VERY VERY cold. Maybe 0 degrees and winds up to 10-15. It will be COLD!! Well both teams have to play in these cold conditions. Some may think the Vikings may have the edge but I say no. The Vikings are not used to playing in 0 degree weather on the field. So in reality it will even out in my opinion.

The Vikings of course were blew out by the Seahawks a few weeks ago. And they held Peterson down too. Teddy Bridgewater is a very young and talented QB but I just do not think he can handle the pressure. I do not think it will be a blowout in this game though.

Seattle has been here and done that. Two Super Bowls in a row under the direction of Head Coach Pete Carroll and of course QB Russell Wilson and now RB Marshawn Lynch will be back and you know that is going to help big time the Seahawks. No what people say and how great Wilson and Doug Baldwin has played the last 5 or 6 games, Lynch brings things to the table that charges up the entire team.

Everyone is saying teams do not want to play our Seahawks in the playoffs. The team let everyone know by blasting Arizona 36-6 last week they are ready for this Wild Card game this Sunday at 1oam Seattle time. I think the Seahawks want to make up for the bone headed last play in the Super Bowl. They want to get back and win it all again.

IF they beat the Vikings, the next game will be very very tough. Because they have to play Carolina in Carolina and most likely the NFL MVP Cam Newton. This will be a rough game for the Seahawks to win. But they can beat anyone right now. So let’s beat the Vikings this Sunday in the cold weather of Minnesota and then move on to Carolina. But first of course…beat the Vikings.

Expanding Coverage Area for “S.I.C-TV” & M.I.C-TV” Starting soon!

BREAKING “MUSIC INNER CITY TV/SPORTS INNER CITY” NEWS: The last few months things have been falling in place for hopefully to finally make some good money with my media business. God willing that is.

First of all being allowed to cover the 2015 American Music Awards in Los Angeles on the red carpet was a major move. Then I find out that their are people really watching “Music Inner City TV” and soon hopefully “Sports Inner City TV” on Comcast-Xfinity On-Demand. And a few other things have fell in place too like having my sports program expanding from online to television!! Another dream come true. But a few days ago I obtained some HUGE HUGE news while discussing my yearly contract with Comcast.

Because of my viewership I was asked if I would like to expand my programs into all of Comcast-Xfinity On-Demand West Coast area!! I said HELL YES!! Keep in mind, since I started “Music Inner City TV” my program was aired just in Western Washington state from Bellingham to the Kels0-Longview area, Centralia, Washington area and over to the coast of Washington. But in a few weeks THAT IS ABOUT TO CHANGE!!

In a few weeks “Music Inner City TV” and “Sports Inner City TV” will be on Comcast-Xfinity On-Demand in of course Western Washington state, but now we will be seen in Spokane, Washington, Portland, Oregon, Eugene-Springfield, Oregon, Chico-Redding, California, Sacramento,  Martinez, the Bay Area that includes San Fransisco, Oakland and San Jose, Salinas, Fresno, Roseville, Stockton and Santa Barbara all of course in California!! Plus Culver City, Nevada.  THIS IS HUGE NEWS LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!!

I am very very happy about this move to Spokane and into Oregon and California. So now I have work to do. I have to promote “M.I.C-TV/S.I.C-TV” in new television markets we will be broadcasting in. I have a good friend in the Bay Area who is willing to join my team to help promote in San Fransisco/Oakland/San Jose area. Starting as soon as my obtain a date we will start and where viewers can find our programs in the new markets, I will be making calls to promote in the new markets. Plus of course using social media and ways to get the word out.

Here is the thing readers. Do you know what has made my program popular over years? It is we provide entertainment via music videos and exclusive interviews that is hard to find on You Tube, VH1, Revolt, Fuse and more. Plus when it comes to sports we touch a niche that is NEEDED VERY BADLY. And that is covering African Americans and people of color in the sports world. Bringing issue to the table that the “majority” media ie sports radio, ESPN, Fox Sports etc are afraid or will not touch. These are facts. For my 25 years of broadcasting I have always mixed music and sports.

So starting soon we will have to not just cover our Seahawks and Mariners and UW etc and other Seattle area sports but we have to throw in coverage of the Golden State Warriors, Sacramento Kings, Portland Trailblazers, San Jose Sharks, SF 49ers, Oakland Raiders (if they do not move to L.A) and other sports teams.

As always all ALL “M.I.C-TV-S.I.C-TV” programs will be streamed online for those you who do not have Comcast-Xfinity On Demand and who stay outside of the Comcast west coast coverage area. Plus we can run more advertising ie commercials on our online webcasts. And don’t forget we also broadcast “Music Inner City Radio” podcasts at “Music Inner City News Magazine” www.musicinnercity.com where we can run MANY MORE ADVERTISING COMMERCIALS. Plus we will have “Sports Inner City Radio” podcasts that will air on our sports ONLY website “Sports Inner City Online” at www.sportsinnercity.com Covering people of color in the sports world PLUS playing classic soul/hip-hop music.

Oh yeah on our new “Sports Inner City TV” programs, we will also play hip-hop and r&b and pop music videos just like we have done on “M.I.C-TV” for 25 years!! So their is one thing that is very very important. We are the ONLY locally produced African American owned business of it’s type running on Comcast-Xfinity On-Demand on the west coast. THE ONLY ONE!!

Hopefully it is time for artists, promoters and business owners to come to our table to do business. Get your brand or what you do seen not only in the Seattle-Tacoma-Everett and Western Washington area but now in the Spokane area plus Oregon and California markets!! Plus worldwide via the internet on our websites where we get a lot of traffic from all over the world!!

I will back here on “M.I.C News Magazine” for a starting date for our programs starting in our new markets very soon. A big THANK YOU to Comcast-Xfinity for allowing this big move to happen. Call us now at 206-445-3989 or email us at gcurvey@yahoo.com to start promoting on our platforms. To Bad We In Seattle Cannot Watch Kobe In His Last Year

“One Man’s Opinion” by Gordon Curvey

BIG NEWS on “Sports Inner City TV” expanding to television coming at ya soon right here on “S.I.C-TV”

As a NBA and basketball junky I am upset AGAIN that our dearly departed Seattle Sonics are not here anymore. I am still upset even though our Sonics have been gone to OKC since 2008. I don’t give a damn. I miss the NBA.

I have been producing “Music Inner City TV” for 25 years. All of those years I have mixed entertainment and sports. I covered the Sonics at morning shoot arounds the day of games at Key Arena. I was lucky enough to conduct interviews with Charles Barkley, Shaquille O’Neal, Chris Webber, Coach George Karl, Gary Payton, Rip Hamilton,  Dale Davis, Shawn Kemp, Grant Hill and many more and are you ready for this….I even interviewed Micheal Jordan in 1998!! Yeb MJ!!

But one player I was not able to interview was Kobe Bryant. As many of you know Bryant announced he is going to retire after 20 seasons in the NBA all with the LA Lakers. So we now can watch another farewell for another great player who is ending their career. Just like Dr. J and Kareem and now Kobe. Of course we here in Seattle have to watch the farewell to Kobe on TV etc.

This is truly truly sad. We had the Sonics here in Seattle for 41 years and then all of a sudden they left. Kevin Durant was a rookie and so we had a chance to watch him just one year. Russell Westbrook was drafted the year the Sonics left for OKC. So of course we could not watch Russell and KD turn into great players in person.

Bryant is not playing well at all. He is 37 and has logged miles and miles of running up and down NBA courts on his legs and as we all know father time does not play games and father time has hit Kobe big time. Most of the shots he is taking are 3 pointers and sorry to say so far this season I have saw a lot of air balls thrown up by Kobe. Kind of sad to watch readers.

Stephen A. Smith on his TV show with Skip Bayless said the other day that Bryant should retire  NOW. He is playing that bad according to Smith but come on now Stephen A., Bryant is making 25 MIL this season!! Would he walk away from that? I don’t think so.

So let’s enjoy the final season of one of the greatest NBA players ever. Hopefully Kobe can have a few games when he turns back the hands of time and shows us why he was so great. Some say Lakers head coach Byron Scott is playing Kobe to long and is allowing him to toss up 24 or 25 shots a game while other players wave their hands for the ball. Will this continue?  We will see what happens.

Zero African American Managers In Major League Baseball

“One Man’s Opinion” by Gordon Curvey

Watch “Sports Inner City TV” webcasts RIGHT HERE! 24-7 ON-DEMAND!! Seattle Seahawks audio/video interviews and highlights and more “urban” sports news!!Watch via smartphones, tablets, mac or pc ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD!!

Readers something is very very wrong going on in the so called “America’s Past Time” and that is the sport of baseball. I will try to break it down in a few paragraphs here on “Sports Inner City Online”

First of all let’s look at the youth of the “inner city”.  Young African American youth are not playing the game as a whole by age 12 or 13. They turn to basketball and football. Think I am not telling the truth? Well just look at high school teams and then college teams. They are mainly white and very very few African American players are turning out for high school teams and then college teams. They are in the gym hoopin or tossing a football on the fields of America. These are facts. Look at a high school or college game on TV. It will make my point.

Then in MLB, the amount of African American players having been heading downhill since the mid 90’s. Now their are only 8% or 9% African American players in baseball. Some teams have zero African Americans on their teams!! Can you believe that? But it is true. Very true.

And check this out. Here is a question. How many African American baseball players do we see on TV doing marketing or selling a product? I say zero folks. I do not see former guest on my  TV show “Music Inner City TV” Andrew McCutchen. I do not see another guest on my program, Torri Hunter or another former guest Curtis Granderson or CeCe Sabithia or Matt Kemp or another former guest Lorenzo Cain and others.

But how many NBA or NFL African American players do we see? How about ex players Shaq and Barkley. KD and CP3 plus Russell Westbrook and Blake Griffin. Also the Curry Bros, D-Wade and of course LeBron. How about Chris Bosh and of course our own Russell Wilson and Richard Sherman and Marshawn Lynch.

And their are others but I cannot name a African American baseball player doing marketing of a product on TV. The question is WHY? It is crazy readers. Real crazy. And also very very wrong.

So here is what happens. Young inner city kids see NFL and NBA players and they want to be like Lebron or like Russell or like Sherman. They do not see a Cain or Kemp or Hunter on TV. They have their pics on there wall at home. This is sad. This is wrong.

Finally readers let’s talk about this. Our Seattle Mariners had the ONLY African American manager in baseball in Lloyd McClendon. Let me repeat. The ONLY African American manager in baseball. He had a season in which they almost made the playoffs and then a season where the Mariners were nowhere near going to the playoffs. In my opinion Lloyd should NOT have been fired.

But the Mariners brought in a new GM and he quickly fired McClendon so he can bring his own men in. So the other day the Mariners hired Scott Servais as their new manager. And also hired Tim Boger as the new bench coach. Of course both are white.

Did the Mariners EVEN INTERVIEW A AFRICAN AMERICAN FOR THEIR NEW MANAGER? How about a FORMER MANAGER OF THE YEAR in Dusty Baker? This is about three times the Mariners have not even interviewed Baker for a opening as manager. I remember Baker saying he loves the Northwest and does his wive. So what is the problem with the Mariners and Baker? Did the Mariners interview Willie Randolph or Ron Washington? Yes Washington has had a few problems but he is a proven major league manager. Late in the year he was hired as the A’s third base coach.

Servais has zero experience as a manager. He was assistant GM with the Angels. What has he done to become new Mariners manager compared to Baker and others? I do not understand this at all.

Do the leaders of MLB in New York even care that their are zero African American managers, do they care that African Americans are not attending games or watching them on TV. Do they care that young African American kids turn from baseball at a young age? It seems they do not care at all. They want to keep baseball in 1948. With organ playing and the singing of “America The Beautiful” at the 7th inning etc.

Football and basketball are reaching the “hip-hop generation” of young people. They realize this is 2015 not 1948. Readers I do NOT think legends Frank Robinson and Hank Aaron are happy with the state of African Americans and baseball. And for sure Jackie Robinson would not be happy. Just think folks, in April baseball for some reason has “Jackie Robinson Day”

IT IS A JOKE THAT MLB HAS A DAY CELEBRATING JACKIE ROBINSON!!! With zero African American managers and the amount of African American players going down the tubes and with African Americans not attending games!!! A FLAT OUT JOKE!!!!! BASEBALL SHOULD GET RID OF JACKIE ROBINSON DAY UNTIL THEY TRULY SHOW THAT THEY CARE ABOUT THE AFRICAN AMERICAN YOUTH AND POSSIBLE FANS.

Seattle Seahawks news and views coming at ya very soon right here on “Sports Inner City Online”

As some of you may know I am a tremendous basketball fan and a NBA junky. As a sports fan one of the worst days as a sports fan was when our NBA the Seattle Sonics left town in 2008 for the dust town OKC.

Many of you also know that the NBA is around 80% African American and the sports media in Seattle likes to put African Americans on full blast any chance they get. For sure on sports radio like 710 ESPN and sportsradio KJR. Mainly KJR.

And also the Seattle Times and the Seattle PI (online). It is a severe problem in my opinion. When brothas do wrong it is all over the radio and TV and newspapers.

But when brothas do right we hardly here anything and this is real. Or when a brotha is found innocent of charges put against them. Like what happened recently to NBA player Thabo Sefolosha of the Atlanta Hawks. Did not hear anything on radio about this.

A New York jury recently found Thabo innocent on three misdemeanorJames-Blake charges. In April, Sefolosha said police caused his season ending leg injury after he left a nightclub in NY. Sefolosha suffered a fractured fibula and ligament damage when he and a teammate were arrested near the scene of the stabbing of another NBA player Indiana Pacer forward Chris Copeland.

After the incident, TMZ Sports released video that shows a group of police arresting the 6-7 Sefolosha and taking him to the ground. But as I said a NY jury found Sefolosha innocent of all charges on him. This is great news. The brotha should NOT have been arrested at all. Again mistreatment of a African American/black man by the police.

Also recently former tennis pro James Blake met with NY Mayor Bill de Blasio and police commissioner William Bratton. This happened because of Blake being taken to the ground AGAIN by NY police after Blake was thought to be a suspect in another crime. Again this incident was flat out wrong on the part of the NY police. These type of incidents are happening all over America.

Finally let me say this. I am very happy justice happened for Sefolosha and Blake. But I also think pro sports stars should stay away from nightclubs because terrible things seem to happen time and time again. We do not hear about Lebron James or Carmelo Anthony or Kobe Bryant or Chris Paul or Russell Wilson or Richard Sherman hanging out a nightclub. Brothas should do the right thing and have a good time at home!!
